As my grandpa would say, “it’s a good day to have a good day! You better believe it.”
My grandpa Sonny, that was his nickname and what everyone called him. He was pure joy and sunshine. His humility and joy sparked light in people’s lives wherever he went.
His energy was truly contagious, and he knew exactly how to light up someone’s day. And even as he slowly passed away, he came through by the tap of his foot as he listened to gospel hymns.
My grandpa is remembered by his community on how he loved others. He didn’t just fix and install heating and cooling systems for people, he’d sit at their kitchen counters and talk about life. The lessons he taught in my life was through a gentle hand of encouragement that it was your turn to drive the boat. I will always be grateful for his bright light of love, strength, and joy.

Another trip around the sun!🎂
One thing I’ve learned to chase and appreciate more and more this year is sun gazing. Rest in gratitude as you see the sun rise or set.
- the infrared light boosts mitochondrial health and repairs cells.
- it helps produce melatonin naturally and regulates circadian rhythm.
- it reduces anxiety and improves quality of sleep.

Today I technical directed an 8hr training for birth workers/doulas with
And here’s why..

- Pregnant people are an at-risk population.
- 25-74% describe their birth as traumatic.
- 26% are diagnosed with PTSD.
- 1/3 of NORMAL pregnancies result in c-sections
These stats are shocking…but real.

Something that asks in the training, “What if every person that gives birth walks out physically stable and emotionally well?”

I believe that birth workers are instrumental in changing these statistics, and this training teaches how to work alongside doctors, fill in the knowledge gap, and be your advocate.

We have a long way to go, but it starts with one person making a change and offering a different perspective that could change the outcome of someone’s birth.

Cherish every moment with your loved ones. Take photos, take videos, make memories! This thanksgiving comes a little hard this year after losing my gma a month ago and my dog. But knowing that they’re still with me in spirit gives me so much comfort and hope for the future. Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁 🦃

I love you Gma. Thank you for loving your grandkids through your presence. You attended every one of my basketball games, endless Sunday brunches, Viking games, late Saturday nights at your house and mid-week movie nights at the theater. My gma truly embodied love through her presence, especially to her many grandkids. Thank you for your ever-present love, and now your spirit will always be with us. 💕

Do what feeds your soul. 💫

You may know exactly what that is. You may not. It can look different for everyone. Someone that sits down with their coffee, journal and bible and reads, listens and writes in the morning might be different to someone that listens and sings to the sounds of nature from the chirps of the birds on a deck, to the rustling of the leaves in the woods, or the waving ocean at the beach.

It’s about call and response to our souls. You know that yearning in your soul, the call. Respond to it. Write it down, speak it aloud, sing it.

You have been created uniquely for a purpose. The way you receive and respond to joy, energy, love, and renewal may be different to the next person. Just like what you put your joy, energy and love into is different from person to person. So if you’re stuck and wondering what feeds your soul, try something new. It might not fit into the “mainstream.” But you weren’t meant to, you are made to be uniquely you.

So what feeds your soul?

It’s been a minute since I’ve been here! I took a long break. Been receiving this week what it means to truly Selah.

Selah is used at the end of many verses in the Bible. But what does it really mean?

Be always confident in God, pour out your hearts across the surface, for God is our refuge. Selah.” Ps. 62:8.

Selah is the call to rest, feel and embrace. It’s so common to always think we have to speak our hearts out or read the next verse. But this is a call to feel…feel confidence and pour out your heart across the consciousness of the world because God is our safe place and we don’t have to be afraid to love others.

Our world calls for healing. Let us feel in confident healing and pour that healing we feel out into the world. To the weary one, I hear you, I feel your pain, and I am sending you all the healing!

We have the power to declare our beginnings and closures of life. But a closure, according to Omega, is not the end. It’s the completeness of purpose. It’s the launch of completeness.

Rev. 21:6 is the verse that is given to the English Bible, but in its original text, it says much more than that.

We identify Omega, as an ending- the last letter of the Greek Alphabet.. But if you think about an Alphabet, isn’t the last letter equally as important as the first letter? Without the last, first or any letter, the alphabet isn’t complete.

So the last letter doesn’t determine the ending of something, rather the last letter of the alphabet is a launch into the purpose of the alphabet so that words can be formulated.

So if “I am the Alpha and Omega,” God is saying that I am the beginning and the launch in completeness to go forth on purpose. What a mouthful! But sometimes our English language can’t depict the perfect translation. That’s why it was written in the language it was written, and why we have the ability to express our light through various forms such as writing.

So go and renew in Omega because you have everything within you to launch into completeness!

Something I’ve always believed in is that life is a journey and there are hills and valleys to it. We cant reach the hills if we don’t hit the valleys and we can’t hit the valleys if we aren’t challenged by the hills. It can be pure bliss and it can be excruciating pain. But either way, you are still here, and you have purpose in the journey.
