So this year for Christmas got a nice little tattoo ☺️

You don’t realize how much your work means to people… until they get a tattoo.
Haha I guess it’s a bit overwhelming but then again Lumberjacks has always been the sum of its amazing artists and I am grateful for your contribution. I promise you I have no frikkin clue what I am doing.

My favourite Antoine St. Exupery was quoted: if you wanna build a ship, don’t teach your men how to build a ship but the longing for the sea.

And that’s always been my mission. To start a fire and let it take over. We are in the tradition of Chicago, New York and Detroit. That’s where we got our vibes from. Plus London. That took all that and turned it into something else. And each city took it and made it something else. I couldn’t have done it without Amsterdam. A portal into the world and all these scene represented through the amazing record stores, Labels , producers and DJs here.

But it’s always about that, keeping the spirit alive to dance and congregate and dig deeper into the frequencies . There are so many ways to say the same thing. So many ways to feel like one. I am glad I got a chance to find my way in and be part of it.

Sorry bit slow with the mixes this year but compared to how long had to wait, it’s still a breeze. He was literally one of the first people I approached to do a mix for us but somehow it kept getting pushed back so much so, he even did a new mix in the mean time.
DJ Friction has written German Rap history with his band Freundeskreis, that I listened to when I was still going to school , having an impressive run of videos on MTV and Viva.
Friction is an extremely versatile DJ with deep roots in Hip Hop style DJing.
I copy and pasted his bio on SoundCloud if you want to know , it’s just so much , it would wear you out. He’s doing this professionally since the 80s , so go figure.

Marcia Carr is a seasoned club DJ and radio presenter. She's the producer of Everything Good (Rinsefm), the curator and director of the all-vinyl, female DJ squad Girlz B Like, producer of video series 2 Decks And A Mixer and occasionally makes tunes.
Known well among her industry peers, Marcia Carr is an international vinyl aficionado; she is the DJs DJ with more than thirty six years of loyal passion behind her. She's played many of London's hotspots, she has been featured around the world on bills alongside many big names of the scene.

As a former street/jazz dancer she knows how to work up crowds internationally - from festivals to nightclubs, be it DJ'ing in a castle down to a minuscule horse-box - taking audiences on a musical journey that nearly always veers off into sheer eclecticism of sounds.

The first time I heard AlAlexander Antonakisas warming up for Romanthony live at O25 in Frankfurt (Main) in ca 2000. I could stop there. Then at a house party in a flat above the infamous 21st Jahrhundert. Both times I took notes. Namely I remember Inner Life's - Moment Of My Life (famously sampled by Ian Pooley for Forc Inc.) and Venus Dodson's Where Are We Headed? I was decksharking hard. Later when I moved to Berlin we booked him for our Premiere Party for Maestro at Kinzo. I guess it's fair to say he is a local legend with his residencies for Radio X , their Chocolate Parties alongside the late Heiko M/SO and the equally famous Monza club.

Robert was our friend, and we miss him. It's difficult to put into words just what he meant to us. He was a mentor, an inspiration. Canada’s, and more specifically Montreal’s, disco deity. We won’t burrow into his biography, as it is extensive, and footnotes would simply not do him justice. Check out the Red Bull Music Academy video interview if you want to start to journey into who he was for yourself. We made this mix just a few days after he died. It is a cathartic, vastly imperfect, and quick expedition into his music. It merely scratches the surface of who he was, musically.

We connected through a party we were playing for Pride Toronto, after we suggested that he replace the divine Nicky Siano on the bill, as Nicky had to back out at the last minute. After that party, we played together a handful of times, both in his native Montreal and in Toronto, but we really became close through afternoons spent in his home studio, sharing songs. He was more passionate about music than anyone we’d ever met. He was in his seventies, some forty years our senior, but was a big kid really, and when we were together we were contemporaries. We loved listening to stories of his Limelight disco days and of his experience making house music in the nineties. And even though a seventy-odd something he was always working on something. Always. And we were proud to help get a few of his edits out to the world through connections with GAMM, Basic Fingers and Whiskey Disco. He always had music to share and was constantly clamouring for us to send him edits for his radio shows, a request we complied to, often and happily.

And out of nowhere the news of his passing broke, we were breathless and in disbelief.
We just hope that he knew how much we loved him and how important he was to us.

Moe is originally hailing from Sudan and moving through different destinations landed in his current home, Stockholm / Sweden. I first noticed the 2 meter giant ( 2,50 if you count the hair ) on a dancefloor in Amsterdam wearing his usual colourful tunic, dancing his ass off literally as if there was no tomorrow. Rumour has it he's in the 50.000 step dance programm. The strange thing about first meeting him was, that EVERYBODY i knew , knew him already. The way I understand it is, that he's dancing at every party everywhere at the same time. Don't ask me how that's possible, it just is.
I ve never met somebody with a purer heart and a purer love for music and dance. A wonderful manifestation of pure love for life and a deeply spiritual being.
As all the best DJ's the journey starts on the dancefloor, that's where we learn the pace and buildup of energy of a good set. We experience how it feels to be mesmerized.
I have nothing but love for Moe and the way he approaches music and dance. Give it up for the one and only: Moe!

"I fell in love with Will.Flo's music in 2017 and his 12" Two & Three.
It caputured my heart and my imagination. I am a sucker for artwork and screen prints and mystery and beauty. The groove and the soul reminded me of detroit. It was a love letter to somebody unkown. To a strangers ears, that we are always trying to reach. We dont know who's life we gonna change.
I kept this 12" like a little secret, smiling at it whenever i saw it either in a pile of records that moved around the room or sometimes spinning its idiosyncratic vibes. Its beautiful when an artist manages to get their vision across but it's not always given that it is going to be heard on the first time around. All we can do is trying to repeat the process and put ourselves out there, for a stranger to find and truly love our soul that we laid bare."

Typhoon Lady used to appear regularly at Amsterdam’s Red Light Radio with her eclectic Sputnik Sweetheart show. In 2020 she moved to Berlin where she helped set up and create the programming for Refuge Worldwide. She now regularly plays in Arkaoda Bar and is starting a residency at Dublab DE in September. Listening to Typhoon Lady feels like opening Pandora’s box over and over again, when she’s the one behind the decks sharing her cosmic gems.
