I’ve got this exact peri bottle linked on my page!🥰 Life changer!
I have two little ones begging for my attention and time from 7am-8pm. That’s a good thing! But that doesn’t mean it’s “easy” or “refreshing.”
What’s easy, especially as a new mom, is to start to feel like you’re “losing yourself” - an all to common phrase that I don’t think is a bad thing (to lay your life down for another) - but I think what us new moms really mean is that we are having a hard time getting out of the newborn fog.
We feel like we don’t have time to do anything but wipe butts and sit on the floor with a boring black and white picture book - also sometimes very important things - but let’s remember there’s more to Christian living than that!
To make things short, and to leave room for discussion and encouragement in the comments, my first piece of advice for a mom feeling any sort of way relating to “loosing yourself” (in a not so healthy way, not a sacrificial way), would be this…
LEARN SOMETHING NEW❤️
And I know I know! You are learning A LOT as a first time mom. But if you have made it out of the newborn days and you still feel in a rut, I think it may be helpful to start a new hobby and learn something new.
For me, that was learning to bake sourdough bread (and other sourdough goodies!!!).
It’s nothing grand, but it’s new. And I’m learning and growing…which is also a wonderful thing for your children to see.
And bonus, it’s a skill that easily can bless others, which in turn blesses my spirit too🥹
You could learn to knit or sew, paint, hand letter, refurbish furniture, bake or cook, improve your photography skills…the list is endless for the things you can learn at home!
That’s it - Give something new a try if you’re feeling “in the rut of motherhood.”
As always, do it all for the glory of God💪
