Vintersorg is back!

𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬!

Hammerheart Records is proud to announce the partnership with Vintersorg and Dimbild! New albums (yes, multiple albums) are being recorded and Andreas even mentioned playing live in 2024 as a possibility. Expect a new album in the first half of 2024.

Vintersorg adds:
“We are very inspired about this new step in the Vintersorg story, where we have started a new partnership with Hammerhearr Records. We are looking forward to this and are preparing the fourth album of the Element cycle, the "Water-album" as our first mantel piece in the Hammerheart Record's vast musical gallery, epic times ahead.”

About Dimbild:
“The Dimbild project took form 2022 when Vintersorg came to the conclusion to do something serious of fragments and ideas that he had gather for many years. Theese were of an semi-accoustic flavour and rooted in the Scandinavian folk music traditions, but also with an bombastic approach at times. In 2022 songs were compiled and also written. The Vintersorg trademark vocals are written all over this musical art.

It's has been a nice journey to make the Dimbild songs come to life. I feel that I've found the best suitable home for this at Hammerheart Records. The songs are something that I feel is a new fresh breeze in the folk genre and also in my own way of writing music.”

Long post time.

Followers of our little show here may have noticed that sometime in August I just stopped doing my radio show every Saturday. No warning, just a few posts here and there.

Truth be told, we’ve been getting lower ratings for a while. It’s expected I guess as this is a niche genre of metal and I’m not filling my timeslot with classic Pantera and Slayer. I also know part of it is that I’ve honestly just been going through the motions for a bit now in creating an event page, throwing a playlist together, rinse and repeat. I was planning a vlog to do something different and keep the show afloat in weeks I pick up OT shifts at work or just have plans for that Saturday. I even bought some new equipment for the show and haven’t gotten a chance to use it yet.

I’m still passionate about this music, and having absolutely nuked the show previously (in 2013) I’m not really about to do that again. Beards and Broadswords will be back. The passion will reignite the show eventually. I’m not here to cancel my show for good, do anything of the sort, or blame anyone else for the show not going the way I’d hoped on my 4+ years at MDR (who are amazing people to work with and super supportive of all their DJs). I’ll do whatever to bring it back much sooner than later.

I will be back for a show sometime soon. I do have plans to continue broadcasting and showcasing this awesome genre of music that gets underrepresented on airplay. See you very soon, metalheads!!

We'll be celebrating the release of our ninth studio album 'The Living and the Dead' and hope you'll come and celebrate with us, a Cruachan show is always one big party! We'll have an aftershow party in the Grand Social that everyone is welcome to.

Joining us on the night will be the legendary Celtic Legacy, Ravenlight and Túsk (performing their first show outside Sligo)

We'll also have re-enactments throughout the day provided by our good friends in Jofur Drengir (the stars of our The Reaper video)

Happy 2023 Finally!!

It’s crazy to think we started this show almost 10 years ago with an idea and a playlist. When my friend discussed starting a radio station, I was the first DJ to sign up if I recall right and the idea for a folk / viking metal show came from another friend asking me to burn him a CD to introduce him to the genre; that managed to be 6 CDs after I made a playlist and ultimately decided radio was a better idea.

2023 will feature everything that makes this genre great. Thank you for your support and we’ll be just as loud in 2023!!!

We have toured many times with Ereb Altor and played festivals together and got to know Kris so well, our thoughts are with his family, friends and of course our good friends in EA🤘💔

November 16, 2012… the day I named Beards and Broadswords! I would actually have an opening song in mind for my first show months away (we premiered February 12, 2013 so it was quite a bit of time).

10 years on, we’ve had this awesome little idea turn into a regular show! We celebrate our premiere as our birthday, but today is also an important day in our history! Happy naming day, Beards and Broadswords!

Many beers later, I’m back from all my adventures in the West Coast US. I’m not going to have any electrical power on Saturday for the return show so I’m looking into a makeup show sometime this week! Beards and Broadswords is like a spector, we always return somehow!
