The guys at Steel Rose Metal Co have been hosting shop nights and building some pretty cool stuff. I think its great that these guys spend all week working on customer cars and still make time on the weekends for their friend's projects.
This past Saturday, I dropped by to hang out and shoot some footage. If you've ever built a car, you know that things don't always go as planned. While there's no narration, you can kind of see that happening here also.
All you can do is take a break and grab a beer, then get back to it with a clear head.
Thanks to Mike & friends, and Shawn at Auto Enthusiast Network for having me. Looking forward to more in the future.

Have you seen the E-Legend EL-1?
I need this in my life.
E-Legend says the rally-inspired EV has a 248-mile range, can do 0-62mph in just 2.8sec and will be able to complete the Nürburgring Nordschleife twice when driven in its power-hungry Sport Plus mode.
The 1680kg car is equipped with 19in front wheels and 20in rear wheels, front and rear LED daytime running lights, a bespoke spoiler and three-way adjustable suspension. The interior is yet to be finalised, but we do know that it will feature multimedia connectivity, air conditioning and a rear-view camera.
“The goal of E-Legend is to transfer analog primal instincts of emotional driving into the modern world,” the company said. It stated that the EL1 is “based on a super-light and proven carbon monocoque”, again from an unnamed supplier.
“In its first stage of development, this automobile is powered by electric motors achieving 600kW [805bhp] and wears an extremely enchanting dress in the style of one of the unforgettable technical wonders of the legendary rally era,” E-Legend said.
Just 30 examples of the EL1 will be sold, priced at around £762,000 (€890,000) before taxes. VAT will push the price up to around £914,400 for UK customers.

Our Story
Created from the mix of an old screen name for message boards and my birth year, Sr83 began as a simple portfolio website for Josh Gilmore. After a while, focus gradually began changing from web and graphic design to photography and film projects and the sr83 name came along for the ride. In 2015, I dove in head first, but into the corporate/wedding video industry. I decided to keep the new venture and sr83 separate, mainly because of the wedding side. Who wants a greasy car video guy shooting your wedding? Well I wouldn’t mind, but not all brides look at it that way! So the corporate and wedding side consumed me for a bit.
Fast forward to May 2019 when I was invited to travel Europe for 17 days capturing content for Volkswagen of America and their first ever VW enthusiast brand ambassador, Jamie Orr. The trip reignited my enthusiasm for creating automotive content, especially VW/Audi.
As this spark returns, I feel like the name “sr83” has run its course and it's now time for something new. While there's a lot more to cars than racing, I feel that racing has influenced much of where cars are today. The research and development that goes into racing is why the technological advancements and luxuries are present in cars today.
Racing inspires us to modify our own vehicles, to build machines to race ourselves. Race styling and livery influence the aesthetics of our own cars, from daily drivers to show cars and from race cars to RC cars. For those of us who are heavy enthusiasts, that same influence spills over into our garages and homes.
This inspiration is where the new name for my brand comes from.
With all of that said, I'm extremely proud to present Rennspired.
While the majority of my content will remain VW Group vehicles (VW, Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Ducati, Lamborghini, Seat, Skoda), there will be some non VW, possible non-euro content that I post occasionally. My goal now is to create relevant, engaging content for businesses that need it for websites and social media, as well as build and capture some great stuff for my own projects.
