Why Do Commissioners Brent Chesney , Republican, and Commissioner Jose A. Gonzalez or simply JAG, (turncoat from Democrat to Republican), get along?
It's simple, and there are two reasons: Firstly, Jose A. Gonzalez (JAG) gave his loyalty to Brent Chesney to avoid a Republican opponent, and Secondly, both of them trade favors to cheat county taxpayers. There is a saying: “Crooks stick together because they have something in common.”
Juan Pimentel is the Nueces County Director of Public Works. This means Mr. Pimentel has say over public works jobs and so who get manpower, heavy equipment and construction materials. The manpower is paid for by the ratepayers of Nueces County. The expense of heavy equipment is paid – again -- by Nueces County. The bulk materials are paid for by Nueces County. This accumulated into big money.
Recently, one of Mr Pimentel's work crew was building a new driveway at Mr. Pimentel's dad's home (considered private property). Mr Pimentel's work crew was using Nueces County employees to do the job. Additionally, Nueces County heavy equipment was being utilized to do the job, and Nueces County materials to do the job. Add up the manpower and time and materials involved and and one will conclude: this accumulated into big money.
Mr Pimientel’s work crew accidentally ran into a mailbox and thus they had to call Nueces County Risk Management. This caused Nueces County waste Management to visit the location, and take photographs and witness statements. (All pictures and witness statements verify all of what you have just read.)
Both the bottom line and the top line is persons in entrusted positions of authority are not supposed to use the resources of Nueces County (that is, manpower, heavy equipment and bulk materials) for personal profit or gain, but Mr Pimentel did. He violated Nueces County policy and more than likelybroke several laws of this great State of Texas.
This violation of Nueces County policy was brought to the attention of the Nueces County Commissioners Court. This was both a misuse and waste of taxpayers money. Nonetheless, Commissioner Brent Chesney, Commissioner JAG, and Commissioner Hernandez, who does whatever (Chesney) tells him to do, praise Mr Pimentel. Some observers said: “It made no sense”; but then it made lots of the sense. Apparently Chesney had to support this wrongful private use of private profit from taxpayers money because he is being accused by some as doing it too.
The accusations are that Commisioner Chesney in his official capacity has been using Nueces County tax dollars to do favors for constituents - for years. Specifically Chesney has been using Nueces County public works to fix his friends roads using Nueces County taxpayer. It includes manpower, heavy equipment and bulk materials being used on private property.
These places and locations where Comissioner Chesney has done this are not country roads, and thus it is completely improperly to burden Nueces County with his financial cost. Chesney, previously cited accusations have surfaced. Again, the evidence has been identified, that he has approved of the misusing of taxpayers money for improper purposes -- supposedly to get votes and garner other forms of influence.
Chesney, most insiders know, wants to be the “big dog” and so he has been wasting taxpayer money on roads that do not belong to Nueces County. This has been the accusation. If proven utterly accurate, this violates Nueces County policy Texas law and cheats taxpayers of public funds and resources.
Lots more will be unearth via this investigation.
At some point in time, it has been projected, County Commisioner Brent Chesney will dispute this article because he like to re-spin things and believes he is a master at covering serpenting tracks (but that is a story for another day). The emails simply available prove that Chesney had “a hand in it” (that is, they were certain roads not owned by the county and thus were not the responsibility of Nueces County to be fixed).
There is evidence (photos) that show the work performed on private property that public works should not have been working on. If Chesney denies the truth then photos and emails will be published.
Watchdog observers have been claiming JAG does the same and/or is complicit. This has circulated for years as it turns out, both Chesney and JAG - therefore - had to support Mr Pimentel's wrongful corruption, some sources have made the argument.
“Why?” -- this is the recurring question circularized. Accusers argue that this might be the reason the action that would have triggered Mr. Pimentel to “rat on” Brent Chesney and alleged transgressions committed by JAG. As one activist put it: “Crooks cannot ‘rat on one another (without consequences)’ or else all of them get into big trouble. Of course Commissioner Hernandez just plays along.”
The county judge and one other commissioner tried to stop it, but they were out-voted.
“Commissioner Brent Chesney and JAG are the good old boys club...When you put a little more light into it, some referred to it as business as usual,” one observed opined. “When you put the right amount of light on it, then it’s called taking from Nueces County taxpayers. Shame, shame, shame, it is hard to stop corruption when the bad guys are protecting each other for their own personal, financial gain.”
The majority of the voters want to keep good leadership, and get rid of the bad leadership for the betterment of the county.
