🙌🏼🍜🤤@rudysramen_chicago is my new favorite spot for ramen. Not only is Rudy, chef/owner one of the nicest person I have ever met but he is truly passionate with all things ramen. What makes his ramen so uniquely and delicious is the deceptively simple yet perfect execution of each component. I highly recommend getting the tempura maitake mushrooms, brussels sprouts, & karaage chicken for starters. Followed by any of his ramen but I like mine spicy. The Spicy Tonkotsu and Tantanmen were so flavorful yet light enough that I could easily finish the whole bowl and not feel uncomfortably full. SO GOOD!!!

First on the list is @kurimuchicago which has some of the best soft serve in the city. I absolutely love their ever-changing seasonal flavors. Next is @omiomi_chicago which is a cute dessert and speakeasy spot in Lakeview. They offer a variety of sweet and savory items but the Omi-Omi Kakigori with fresh strawberries and vanilla shaved ice is sooo good. Last but not the least, the super refreshing Halo-Halo from @umagabakehouse. Need I say more?

🙌🏼🍲🤤Sharing one of my favorite and easy Korean recipes but with a delicious Polish twist. Budae Jjigae or Korean Army Stew is like a warm hug in every bite. I like using @nongshimusa’s Shin Black Instant Ramen with beef bone broth for a flavorful base. In case you are wondering, I got mine from Hmart. Also, it’s so versatile and you can add your preferred protein and veggies to suit different recipes. Since I was inspired by the umami-rich flavorful cuisines of Korean and Poland, I am melding the two worlds together through this recipe. I am using tofu, pierogies, rice cakes, kielbasa, enoki mushrooms, and kimchi for the toppings. The result is a rich, comforting and flavorful stew that has so many different textures and flavors in every bite. SO GOOD!

Budae Jjigae (with a Polish Twist)
Ingredients:
@nonshimusa Shin Black Ramen
1/2 white onions, sliced
6 ea. tofu, sliced
3 ea. cheese and potato pierogis
10 ea. rice cakes
6 ea. kielbasa, sliced
1 small bunch enoki mushrooms
1/2 cup napa cabbage kimchi
For the Seasoning Paste:
2 Tbsp. gochujang or Korean fermented red chili paste
2 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. sesame oil
1-2 American cheese slices
2 Tbsp. green onions, sliced for garnish
Procedure:
1️⃣Make the Seasoning Paste: Combine together gochujang, garlic, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, ramen seasoning and veggie packets. Set aside.
2️⃣In a pot, layer all the toppings: onions, tofu, kielbasa, pierogies, enoki mushrooms, rice cakes, and kimchi.
3️⃣Add seasoning paste and pour water over it. Bring to a boil.
4️⃣Add your noodles & cook until your desired doneness.
5️⃣Add your cheese & let it melt.
6️⃣Garnish with green onion
🙌🏼😋👌🏼Japanese Souffle Cheesecake Bakery is now open in Chicago! I always loved Japanese Souffle Cheesecake so I was so stoked to find out they opened @ufouu.chicago in Chinatown. Since it’s still in the soft opening phase, their menu is limited to four flavors. The texture is rich yet loght and fluffy. It literally melts in your mouth. I highly recommend getting the Classic and Salted Egg if you like a sweet and salty combo. Enjoy!

Located in Cicero, this hole-in-wall joint is serving insanely delicious chilaquiles made with lots of love. There’s only six tables so be prepared to wait a little bit to be seated. But I promise you, it’s well worth the wait. They are offering 10 varieties of Chilaquiles and I ordered the verdes, morita, and mole. Each place comes with refried beans and Mexican-style potatoes. All of them are so good but the spicy morita salsa and rick mole sauce were out of this world. Every bite was full of flavor. Don’t forget to wash it down with their cafe de olla. Can’t wait to go back and try out the rest of their menu. Ahhhhmazing!

🥩🙌🏼🤤First time at Bazaar Meat by two-Michelin star @chefjoseandres, in partnership with the Gibsons Restaurant Group and it definitely won’t be the last. I highly recommend trying out The Bazaar Meat Experience since you are getting a little taste of everything they offer. Some of my favorites were the caviar cone, not your everyday caprese salad, chicken croquetas, Spanish octopus, the classic tartar, and rosewood wagyu/black angus ribeye. SO GOOD!

With over 23 years in business, their chilaquiles verdes is a standout, featuring tortilla chips tossed in a tangy house-made green salsa, three eggs, Mexican rice, and beans. Personally, I enjoy the generous portion and flavorful salsa, but the tortillas are a bit on the soggy side for me. While I know some of you prefer it that way, I like mine with a mix of both crispy and soggy tortillas. Keep sharing your favorite chilaquiles—I’ll do my best to check out all your recommendations!

They are known for their delicious breakfast and brunch but the chilaquiles is the most popular item on the menu. It might not be a traditional chilaquiles but I do love the spicy green salsa as well as the addition of sweet plantain. Theres also a nice contrast between crunchy and soft tortilla chips which I thoroughly enjoyed. Mmmm…

From 4 pm to 6 pm every day for seven days a week, enjoy live entertainment and HALF OFF all cocktails, spirits, wine by the glass or bottle, and beers. Every time I come to Truluck’s, it never ceased to amaze me how consistently good everything is. You can’t beat the incredible food, great ambience, and attentive service. I highly recommend ordering the Parmesan Yeast Rolls, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Lobster Bisque, Miso Glazed Seabass, Chilean King Crab or Maine Lobster Oscar, Lobster Mashed Potatoes, and Crab Fried Rice. Make sure to save room for desserts especially for the larger-than-life Carrot Cake and Chocolate Malt Cake. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything here. Cheers!!!
