💦 Chasing Waterfalls at Erskine Falls near Lorne on the Great Ocean Road
🏝 What an adventure and a bit of a hidden secret behind the stunning beaches and the cozy beach town of Lorne.
🍃 Even though it feels like Erskine Falls are hidden away in the lush rainforest of the Otways, this is one of the most popular waterfalls in the area.
🌲 A short 10 minute drive into Otways National Park and you’ll arrive at the Erskine Falls Car Park. From here you can walk to the first lookout which is a very easy track or go all the way down to the waterfall and the second lookout.
🌳 It’s an easy 300 metre return walk to the first lookout from the car park, a paved track with a few steps. This lookout rewards you with a spectacular view over the falls and all the lush trees.
🏃♂️ From the first Lookout you can continue to walk along the path down to the waterfall and the second lookout. This walk involves over 240 steps to the bottom of the falls. This is a 700 metre return walk taking roughly 30 minutes.
🥾 From the second lookout, Actually accessing the waterfall and the Rockpool itself is a little challenging via an uneven and unofficial path - a bit of climbing is required but Lion and Sem made it all the way.
With me being 26 weeks pregnant when we did this hike, I didn’t want to risk myself slipping or falling, so I stayed at the 2nd lookout, but made it all the way down 💪
