“Trust the future, forgive the past, eternity is now and time is on our side.”

To close the EP, worked a half a year to finalize the last track in full detail. 23 Minutes and 18 Seconds long is the Capricorn Rising Over Jerusalemite Temple. This story is where the listener is brought to a higher level of consciousness. Against the rules of our consumerist world, Nathan Dawidowicz focuses on a dramaturgy full of patience for our own lifetime. Acidic lines come and go, powerful synth solos trigger unknown brain parts, and an epic melody accompanies the listener and lets dark emotions melt in a brass-filled part where a voice tells us that time is on our side. The song ends with an epic twist and promises a new start, where our most lovely memories stay in a vortex of light. Beam me up Nathan.

Out the 27th of november 2020 Link in Bio Hyänen sind zu Unrecht in der Literatur und der Popkultur notorisch verklärte Tiere, die der Volksmund in der Regel denunziert und ablehnt. Auf ihrem anstehenden Debüt-Album Hyäne greift Marlene Stark diesen Irrglauben auf und verarbeitet dabei das Tier und ihre Verklärung als Symbol für die Frau in der patriarchalischen Welt. Am 27. November veröffentlicht die Berliner DJ, Künstlerin und Autorin ihre neue, sieben Titel umfassende Arbeit auf Lustpoderosa. Stark studierte ursprünglich Malerei, wandte sich jedoch aufgrund der tiefsitzenden sexistischen Strukturen in der Kunstszene dem Schreiben und der Musik zu. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als DJ in Clubs wie dem Sameheads in Berlin veröffentlichte sie letztes Jahr in Ko-Autorenschaft ein Buch, in dem sie ihren inneren und äußeren Kampf gegen die sexistischen Machtverhältnissen in der Kunstszene aufarbeitet. Auch ihr Debüt-Album Hyäne begreift sie als dezidiert feministisches und politisches Werk. In ihrem Track „Meine Hand“ führt Stark – ganz im Sinne ihrer künstlerischen Ausbildung – eine Detailstudie ihrer Hände durch. Mit archaischem Blick und gebannter Stimme werden assoziierte Verben zum bedrohlich fortschreitenden Beat aufgesagt. Im Kontext des Themas nehmen die Hörer*innen den Blick einer Frau ein, die wie in geistesabwesender Trance auf ihre Hände schaut und sich ihrer Realität und Greifbarkeit bewusst wird. Die Hand, die „wirft“, die „fängt“, die sich „ballt“, wird dabei zum Symbol der erwachenden Gewissheit die Verhältnisse ändern zu können. Passend folgt darauf der Track „Just Change It“, in dem Stark, begleitet von einer wilden Acid-Bassline, zur Aktion auffordert. #feminist #hyäne #vinyl #marlene #stark #lustpoderosa #groovemag #preview
