Loch Lomond and the Trossachs 🌲🚐

Spanning 700 square miles, Scotland's first national park is filled with beautifully deep blue lochs, towering munroes, tree lined valleys and incredible road side views!

For our final road trip of 2024, we spent a few weeks in this area, enjoying watching the seasons change from autumn to winter 🍁❄️

We hiked up to Ben A'an viewpoint, took a serene boat trip along Loch Katrine and enjoyed plenty of loch side walks. We already can't wait to get back up to Scotland in the new year!

Happy birthday to the number one passenger Princess 🚐👑

Another year around the sun, another year filled with various adventures and road-trips to remote places, reluctant hikes up mountains (atleast until you get to the top!) and beach trips with Frank (and me!) by your side ✌️

We wouldn't want to be doing this life with anyone else - here's to another year of awesome moments in places like these ❤️

Galloway 🌲

This part of Scotland was a pleasant surprise. We tend to drive past it on our way to the Highlands, but this autumn we decided we quite fancied the idea of visiting the region with UK's largest forest!

And we weren't disappointed, as we drove scenic coast roads, visited gusty lighthouses, enjoyed peaceful park-ups, explored colourful forests, impressive waterfalls, loch-filled walks and more

If you like the sound of this adventure - you can check it all out on our YouTube via the link on our page ✌️🚐💨

Chasing random waterfalls in Galloway Forest 🍁💧

We've been enjoying stumbling on randomly stunning waterfalls in Scotland. This one in Galloway Forest was just by the side of the road, gushing with power from the mornings rain.

It wasn't sign posted and we're not even sure if it has an official name, but it was super beautiful - and Frank enjoyed his little photoshoot 📸!

Maybe we'll call them Frank falls from now on?

Happy Scottish snaps 🍁🧡

It feels so good to be back up in Scotland, and back exploring beautiful autumn coloured forests, scenic drives, cheap camp spots and a multitude of crashing waterfalls.

In case you couldn't tell from our posts over the past few years - we're HUGE fans of this country 💙

Some particular highlights from the phone camera roll from the past few weeks:

1 - a hike up to Ben A'an
2 - our first park-up, a MH Aire on a WW2 airfield
3 - Frank taking in the views
4 - a big loch hike in Galloway Forest
5 - a fiery sunset at Kirkcudbright
6 - a gloriously wild RSPB forest in Galloway
7 - one of many waterfalls on this trip

We're looking forward to exploring more for the next few weeks - and sharing some more from our trip on here & YouTube 🚐💨

Four years of this 🫶

What started out as a crazy idea during COVID lockdowns, has led to us, over the past four years, carving out a flexible, minimalist, nature filled life that we appreciate every day.

We’ve traveled to 15 countries and counting, filling our spare time with epic trips, hikes, beaches, forests, and mountain views.

The next few photos are from some of our best and most memorable trips (don't make us pick a favourite!) 💙🚐💨

We can't lie, It's been a pretty incredible four years - 🙌

Park-ups, pasties and coast paths 🚐🍁💙

Visiting in autumn was a great way of avoiding the crowds, while still enjoying some decent weather by the coast of Devon and Cornwall.

While we had some stormy days, we were also treated to some beautiful, calm and sunny days too - perfect for coastal hikes to various port towns to eat pasties, as well as enjoying stunning coastal views from our home on wheels Big P 🫶

If you're fancying a bit of off-season exploring and looking for a bit of trip inspiration, then check out our Cornwall travel video on YouTube via the link in our bio ✌️

Praa Sands to Porthleven via the South West Coast Path 🥾

Leaving the van parked up in Praa sands, we set off on a 5 mile hike to the port town of Porthleven.

This was a beautiful stretch of the coast path. The weather was sunny and warm and the views were incredible, taking us past ruins of coastal Cornish mines, and high steep cliffs.

After finishing the hike, we grabbed a pasty and a few pints in Porthleven before grabbing the bus back to Praa Sands.

10/10 would recommend 👌

Cosy days on the Cornish coast ☕

What to do on a windy, grey day in Cornwall?

Well if you ask us, the best thing to do is to find a cliff park-up with a nice view, whack on the kettle, and occasionally venture out onto the coast path to take in the view 👌

No matter the weather, you really can't beat being by the coast 💙

(PS. It's still definitely shorts weather - atleast in Jack's view)

Taking in the last of the summer sunshine in Woolacombe 🌞

After a fairly stationary summer in Big P, it was so, so good to be back on the road, by the sea, and on a beach

Woolacombe is always a winner for us, and we were luckily given a last bit of late summer sunshine, warmth and some easy surf to enjoy at one of our favourite beaches in England ✌️

And now... Bring on autumn we guess? 😬

Kintyre, Gigha & Arran 📽️🚐

These parts of Scotland are lesser visited than those further along the coast in the Highlands and islands, but that doesn't mean they're any less spectacular, being full of everything that makes Scotland so great - white sandy beaches, lush green forests, scenic hikes, an abundance of wildlife and coastal views perfect for road-trips.

This was a proper highlight of our sunmer, and if you fancy seeing more of this area - we've just posted a (long overdue) travel video over on our YouTube.

Goat Fell ⛰️

This was an enjoyable challenge from our trip to the Isle of Arran. The summit is 874m high, and the most direct route is pretty much a steady and then steep incline from sea level at the car park near Brodick until you reach the top

And the final bit is definitely challenging - with a steep scramble which is tough on the legs (unless you're built for hiking like Frank 💪)

We hiked up on the first sunny day we had on Arran, and it meant we had a beautiful view across the sea towards mainland Scotland 👌

And then we rested our weary legs with a rewarding pint at the pub at the bottom 🍺

Who else here has hiked Goat Fell? And how were your legs after? 😅

A little Scotland VanLife photo dump 🫶

We've spent the last month and a bit back up in our favourite country in the world 🙌

While we couldn't get as far north as we usually do, we still managed to explore some new, beautiful parts of this country, as well as some old familiar spots too.

We had some occasional sunny days, some not so sunny days, and we also had to put the heating on a few times (not sure where summer has got to!?)

But it felt so good to be back amongst the coast, mountains and forests up in Scotland 🙌

Adventures completed and SD cards filled up, over the coming weeks we'll be sharing some highlights from this trip, including:

- Kintyre 66
- Isle or Gigha
- Isle of Arran
- Cairngorms
- North East 250

Galicia ✨🚚🎬

Nestled into the North West of the Iberian peninsula is a Spanish region home to a unique Celtic culture and history.

Wetter, wilder and greener than the rest of Spain, Galicia is filled to the brim with stunning beaches, wild seas, colourful port towns, historical ruins all along an incredibly beautiful coast line.

Galicia is undoubtedly one of our favourite European road trips we've taken in our van (and we've been on a few!).

Join us on YouTube (link in bio) as we road-trip along the coast of Galicia by campervan, travelling to stunning park-ups, coastal views, rocky mountains, waterfalls, iron age history and more.

Asturias 🌿☀️🌊

We got a taste of this coast on a brief trip last year, and knew we had to come back again to see more of this part of Spain. Needless to say, we weren't disappointed 🫶

Lush green coast, colourful port towns, easy to find coastal park-ups and beautiful views

If this sounds like your kind of adventure - you can check out our (very long, overdue) road-trip film over on YouTube via the link in our bio ✨

Galicia photo dump 🫶 (also, hi! 👋)

Turns out the last time we posted something on Instagram was a month ago (!)

That's because we took a little intentional social media hiatus, while I (Jack) had my Masters dissertation to finish, which was a lot easier to do without the distraction of traveling, posting on Instagram and making videos for YouTube 😅

But now we're back, and for the next few weeks we will be finishing up sharing more from our Galicia road-trip, on here as well as YT, before we catch-up with our current adventures in Scotland

This part of Spain has firmly become a favourite of ours, and we sorely miss the scenic park-ups we were treated to, the ice cold Estrella Galicia's enjoyed in the Spanish sunshine, it's many beautiful beach views and stunning coastal walks ♥️

Fisterra appreciation post 📍🚐

We planned to be here for a single night so we could get up early for a hike, but, it turns out we couldn't leave this port town!

For just 10 euros a night, the town's aire had incredible views, a beautiful white sandy beach a few minutes walk away, and the best bakery at the end of cute cobbled streets with the crispiest, softest baguettes we've ever had 🥖

With views for days, we spent close to a week here, chilling, working and playing card games to pinky blue sunset views 👌

Here's some photos of why it was so great:

1️⃣ Jo getting destroyed at Monopoly deal to this view
2️⃣ Our work views
3️⃣ Sunset on the last night (6 days after our first)
4️⃣ Praia da Langosteria 👌
5️⃣ Fisterra by drone
