Remember Hilda Baci? The Nigerian holder who cooked for 93 hours 11 minutes in May has been dethroned.

Irish chef and restaurant owner Alan Fisher, has simultaneously broken two cooking-related Guinness World Records titles. In nine days, he baked and cooked 357kg worth of soda bread and 590kg worth of dishes (3,360 portions consisting of 32 recipes).

Alan’s cooking marathon record stands at 119 hours 57 minutes which is more than 24 hours longer than the previous record held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.

Hilda congratulated the new record holder in a post on X "Huge congratulations to Alan Fisher! 119hrs 57mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder!"

People have been struggling to get hold of the new banknotes Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the country's central bank to release the old 200 naira banknotes back into circulation and run concurrently with the new ones till 10 April. The old 200 naira banknotes will then cease to be valid. Meanwhile, the old 500 and 1,000 naira banknotes are no longer valid and must be taken to the central bank through designated channels, he says....

Chad will on Thursday open its embassy in Israel after the two countries renewed diplomatic ties in 2019. President Mahamat Deby is on a visit to Israel and met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday in Jerusalem. Chad, which has a majority Muslim population, cut ties with Israel in 1972. The Mozambican authorities have seized 1,165 fake Apple iPhones and arrested two Chinese nationals following a raid at an apartment in the capital, Maputo, where the counterfeits were being assembled. Police said the suspected counterfeiters were able to use complex technical procedures, including assigning unique serial numbers to the phones. The suspects have denied any wrongdoing.
