Clarity Audio Productions Clarity Productions is the recording studio of Blake Matthews and is based just outside of Raleigh.

I got my start as a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist in bands but I always had an obsession with what made a great sounding recording. From the production and performance aspects to the technical side and how to achieve the tones found on my favorite records, I was obsessed with it all. After a decade of honing my skills and meeting a lot of great people along the way, I started Clarity Audio Pr

oductions to bring the skills I acquired to others. I know that a great final product is all about capturing the energy and emotion of a song. For one song that may be a polished stacks of vocal layers and drums you can feel in your chest. For the next song, that could be more of a "live band in a room" vibe. I care deeply about each project and do not take lightly that you are trusting me as a partner to help bring your vision to life.

Trying to get better about posting day to day studio activities. Social media posting is often an afterthought, but I know a lot of people generally enjoy seeing the day to day work I do. Today has been all about guitars for a band I’m working with. I started out reamping through my mesa dual rec roadster, and then ran the main guitar tracks out through some of the analog toys here at the studio. It’s a long process to do for a record, but it’s worth it. This was one of the last steps before I can start mixing most of the songs on this release, so I’m excited to dive into mix world soon!

These are literally just recall pictures from today’s mix. 33 pictures taken just to recall a killer mix, for every mix that I do. Sometimes I miss mixing all in the box, but then I hear the mix back and I’m very happy with my decisions.
