Robert De Niro becomes to portray his character on the screen. We see him as a convicted ra**st released from prison after serving a fourteen-year sentence in the film. Then he stalks the family of the lawyer who originally defended him. Like many of De Niro’s film, Cape Fear was also directed by master filmmaker Martin Scorsese. Robert De Niro took a tape recorder and extracts of the scripts to southern town and asked the local people to read lines from it so that he could perfect their accent. He also did insane physical training for the role, reportedly taking his body fat level down to 3%. He paid a dentist 5000 USD to make his teeth look bad and then paid 20000 USD to have them repaired.
