An American Black Chicago History Moment
I was just 15 years old when this picture was taken during the press conference 58 years ago in 1966 during Protest March through Marquette and Gage Parks neighborhoods to Englewood.
As usual I was very much in the thick of what was going down. .
My life time friend and big brother from the "Westside", Teddy Williams is pictured at the very top left, the late, great Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr to my left and Al Raby the key organizer of the march to my right many others.
We came hard at them, City Hall, our political adversaries and 50,000 deep.
A life changing event for me; my very first social action engagement in the mission to obtain better housing, economic, employment, opportunities, civil and human rights.
