New episode drops first thing tomorrow looking at some of our favorite iconic covers throughout comic history!

For today more X-men goodness with my copy of the first appearance of Lorna Dane (Polaris)! Joe definitely got the better deal on a nicer copy, but I’m glad that the LCS had this for a reasonable price in a bin and knew I had to snag it before someone else did.

Was able to grab some cool X-men books earlier in the year and grow that part of the collection. Got these first appearances of the Starjammers, Gladiator, the Wolverine fang costume, and Wolverine versus Magneto for the first time!

Taking a break from backlog books to bring you today’s mail call! Defenders 4, the first appearance of Barbara Norris as Valkyrie. She’s probably the most well known Valkyrie though there were a couple before her (Samantha Parrington, and Enchantress) and as my Thor collection has grown, this book became more and more important.

Couple books I was able to re-add to the collection a little bit back. First solo moon knight and first appearance of Scott Lang as Ant Man! Two great books that I had moved from awhile ago but are solid key issues.

A big grab for the Bat-collection! Detective Comics 411, the first appearance of Talia Al Ghul. One of the bat keys I’ve been after for awhile that thankfully hasn’t blown up too crazy 🤪 gotta check out the new Batman animated series that just dropped too!

Back at it to kick the week off with this bad boy. We both have one now, but Joe scooped this Adventure Comics 229 which some say is the first Silver Age appearances of Green Arrow and Aquaman, but is definitely the first appearance of Topo the Octopus, Aquaman’s sidekick. Slept on book and in nice grade too!

Couple books I scooped when the boys united for a Knights of Columbus show a couple months back. Been looking for a first appearance Mangog for a decent price for a good while and this was exactly what I needed. The Web of Spider-man 118, first Scarlet Spider was another one I had been after and I didn’t have to break the bank 😁

Couple small JLA pickups from a Knights of Columbus con a little while back. Able to cop a first Silver Age Sandman which is super cool, slept on character. Also was able to snag a low grade copy of the first appearance of the Royal Flush Gang, was a few bucks because of the tear on the cover but I’ll take it and wait for an upgrade!

Happy 4th of July gang! We here at CBJ love this holiday and we also love that it brings about Xmas in July! The annual comic swap surprise happens today! You’ll have to stay tuned in the coming weeks to find out the results.

Back to back Flash books as I was able to scoop up this Flash 135, Wally West (Kid Flash) gets his iconic yellow costume, to rejoin the collection! When started collecting about a decade ago (time flies) when I didn’t know what I was doing I would dig in bins at the closest comic shop to my parents house. In those bins I got some cool keys for cheap, I had a copy of this I got from there for like $8 and ended up flipping it before I had a dedicated flash collection. All these years later it feels great to get a copy back in the boxes!

Happy Monday gang! Starting off the week with some book shares before we have our new episode drop on Wednesday! Make sure to tune in!

Been sharing a lot of my (Burger) books lately so I figured it’s due time to show off a nice Joe pickup! Hulk 102, first issue of his second volume of books, classic cover, and one of the classic marvel premiere issues!

We’ll be doing Christmas in July again this year real soon and got more coming at ya as the year rolls on!
