On Riviera's latest album, 'Sempre', the Forlì based band managed to capture and bottle all of the myriad of emotions any one person can feel in a calendar year, wrapping it in a soliloquy of pain and healing. This is pure DIY emo punk fare, mixed to create maximum cathartic effect, in their signature style. It’s the latest deft release from To Lose La Track and La Tempesta Dischi. It's well worth checking out.

Taking an expansive approach to music making, Naples based producer and musician Dario Bassolino looks to the Neapolitan jazz-funk revival of the 70s. In ‘Città Futura’, toying with a retro-future vision, he realizes an imagined gangster soundtrack, combining cinematic atmospheres, neo-melodic tributes, middle east textures and southern imagery. It takes a focused artistic vision to coherently pull together such seemingly disparate strands, and Bassolino more than succeeds. Keeping a strong adherence to the groove as he brings forth some stunning sonorities. The album is out via Jakarta Records and Periodica Records. It’s already history.

Say hello to Bob Corsi. For those not familiar, he’s a Rome based dj, producer, promoter and vinyl maniac. He crossed over three decades of music in the city, agitating the Roman dancefloors. He’s one of the founders of Goodfellas, head honcho of Penny Records as well as music supervisor for cinema and television. With a large spectrum of musical influences, his dj sets range from soul, latin, rhythm & blues to funk, reggae, afrobeats, calypso, cumbia, jazz, cosmic disco and sampladelic relics. A unique vibe for the crowd which you may have experienced at parties like Magnetica, Go Bang, Tropical Maracana and Rootsvibes. Tracklist artists like Compass Point All Stars, African Head Charge, Bunny "Striker" Lee together with Mina and Franco Califano Mad give a good flavour of what to expect here: a surprising forty minutes journey into dub territories and its contaminations.

Dead Bandit is the instrumental collaboration between Ellis Swan, a solo folk-noir singer-songwriter from Chicago and James Schimpl, a Canadian multi-instrumentalist. Three years after their debut album, they return on the scene with ‘Memory Thirteen’, which will be released via Quindi Records on February 9th. They join forces for a cryptic distillation of post-rock, drone and electronic. An aural oddity that abounds in evocative sounds and darkened hues. Daniel Colussi alias Fortunato Durutti Marinetti is an underground musician deeply rooted in the spirit of ‘70s songwriters. After ‘Desire cassette’ in 2020, ‘Memory’s Fool’ and ‘Desire’ LP in 2022, he’s going to release his third album, ‘Eight Waves In Search Of An Ocean’. It marks Colussi’s affiliation with the Florence DIY label Quindi Records , besides the usual Soft Abuse imprint. A 9-track nostalgic exploration of energy transmitted through melody. Within it synthetizers, saxophones, violins interlaced with bass lines, atmospheric spoken word vocals, contemplative moods and layered echoes. It’s truly an inspired subterranean pearl for humanity.
