Someone said that you need God in order to trust your ability to reason. That materialism cannot account for this human capacity. This is such a bad argument.
It totally ignores reality. You FEEL like you can trust your reason but in REALITY... you can't. Otherwise you would be perfect.
Are you perfect? No? Then your reasoning is flawed.
Is your reasoning flawed? Yes?
Then you cannot just blindly "TRUST" it then can you?
No. You have to question your own reasoning in order to get it to function properly.
Anyone who doesn't doubt their own reasoning should never have their reasoning trusted by anyone.
The Bible even says not to lean unto thine own understanding.. so there is no evidence whatsoever that reason is divine in origin, at least not when examining it in human minds.

Conscious beings recognize the impact their actions have on the status quo. Forethinking beings are able to take that information and extrapolate probable scenarios. Through experience (experiment) the probability of those scenarios become more accurate. The being learns to adjust current behavior to achieve the desired eventuality.
This is the objective reality of obligation. The realization that you have ends to achieve and that you must act accordingly.
It is experienced subjectively by those beings, who have unique and limited perspectives.
There are an infinity of possible worlds. Only a fraction of them can be achieved intentionally at all, and of those only a fraction are a probable scenario acceptable to all of us.
Perhaps only 1 is.
So we are already trying to align our own and each other's behavior towards that end. We just have yet to define it.
