Petley Peter and Wendy Johadin from Sabah triumphed as the champions of the International Borneo Festival 2023, celebrated in London on October 21.
Petley, an ambassador for the Lundayeh ethnic group, presented the diverse traditions of Borneo, focusing on enlightening others about Lundayeh culture through its rich traditions, distinctive costumes, unique cuisine, traditional dance, crafts, local specialties, and the tourism appeal of the region.
Wendy, who belongs to the Rungus community of Pitas, showcased the Sukolob costume, creatively inspired by the style of Claryssa Hendry Ogodong, the first runner-up at the 2016 State-level Unduk Ngadau pageant.
