Earthackers

Earthackers is a web magazine whose mission is to share sustainable ideas through documentary films and articles across the world.

Have you ever tasted a tremendously delicious meal which was made from otherwise-wasted food? Have you ever been to a store that only sells food that’s expired-but-edible? Do you know that a number of environmentally concerned people moved to the southwestern Island of Kyushu, Japan after the Fukushima disaster? Since 2011, a lot of communities have been established there to promote organic farming, renewable energy, and eco-tourism.

Earthackers seeks to share these kinds of fascinating environmental and socially beneficial projects around the world. These people are not only addressing social issues, but they also welcome people to have fun by joining in their activities. By combining their ideas for ecological sustainability, business, culture and society they have created a sustainable environment that attracts all kinds of people.

Earthackers covers the themes of zero waste, circular economy, food rescue, organic agriculture, refugee issues, cultural diversity and sustainable lifestyles. We travel to see all of these projects, conduct interviews, and create unique and original documentaries.
