The Newcastle Butterfly Effect A bulletin for students and workers at Newcastle University.

The butterfly effect is ‘the phenomenon whereby a minute localised change in a complex system can have large effects elsewhere’. Our bulletin, The Butterfly Effect, is a platform for students and workers to discuss matters related to our community, to share ideas, and develop consciousness. As editors we share a broadly anti-capitalist politics (we oppose the logic of the market and its effect on

our environment and everyday life). This will be reflected in the content of the bulletin, but we accept contributions from everyone – as long as they’re interesting and written in good faith! Long term, our wish is for the bulletin to play a role in organising campaigns, mobilising students and workers around the campus, and building practical solidarity. In the meantime, we hope to provide a space for discussion which otherwise doesn’t exist on our campus.
