Our goal here at The Progressive Underground is to provide an open, online platform for any and all who identify as progressive to come share their thoughts, concerns, ideas, and perhaps most importantly, their solutions moving forward through opinion pieces, essays, and journalistic narratives. This is not a rendition of the dangerous, elusive, and infuriating wave of faux news sites plaguing soc
ial media. We are highlighting our ideology up front in an effort to bring together a movement that is wandering. We, at The Progressive Underground, realize that not everyone identifies as "progressive," and that's okay. Many people, on principle, reject the notion of labels and do not subscribe to a particular ideology. A great many people utilize a "moderate" lens when examining the world, and do not let one ideology or the other dictate their positions on any given issue. Many people also identify as "conservative," and yet another left-wing website will not change that. Modern Progressivism fails as a movement when its coalition refuses to engage in discussion for whatever reason. While our name suggests that this site is just an invitation for a particular ideology, our goal is to become a better movement through solution based learning. Learning happens through discourse. Becoming better happens through discourse. Forward through discourse.
