Getting pumped for the vibes at New Guernica Glamorama & Circus this weekend 🖤

I’ve been reflecting on the ongoing Australia Day/Invasion Day issue, and it sure hits different knowing there’s still no signed treaty acknowledging the sovereignty of Indigenous folks. Australia is one of the only Commonwealth countries without a treaty with its First Nations peoples! This makes me consider the severe impacts on Indigenous communities - displacement, violence, and a deep sense of cultural loss. Engaging in open and respectful conversations with Indigenous people about their perspectives is crucial. Listening and learning from their experiences can provide valuable insights.

Australia Day? Not my thing… Here’s to a weekend filled with great music but also reflection, remembering ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE ✊❤️🖤🧡 Acknowledging the significance of the beautiful, but stolen land we thrive on, and the call for Indigenous sovereignty…

In 2014, I gave life to 'Disco Volante' on the rooftop of onesixone. For four solid years, we gathered each Thursday night, and our intimate rooftop get-together evolved into a bustling full venue party from sunset to sunrise!

Disco Volante held a special place in my heart, thanks to the incredible people, the talented DJs and, of course the mouthwatering BBQ by the one and only Jenny Wong. It was a place where you always found familiar faces, a genuine family atmosphere 🥰

Last year, I brought DV back for one night only, and the magic of the past came alive again. Now as we step into DV's 9th year, I couldn't resist keeping the good vibes going...

On the 21st of October, we'll be returning to the 161 rooftop..

Friends, please join us on Friday October 13 as Sircuit, P**F DOOF, and VicBears celebrate the life of an absolute LEGEND, the one and only DJ ACraig.

Sircuit will open from 7pm for those who knew Ash to come and pay their respects, and catch up with the community.

Then from 9pm, DJs Damien Mack, DJ Du Jour, DJ Argonaut, Lloyd Jones, DJ JESSE BOYD and myself will spin ACraig’s Anthems into the late hours. Plus pop-up shows throughout the night.

Entry is free, but we do ask that you give what you can at the door to support Switchboard, a LGBTQIA+ peer-led organisation dedicated to supporting q***r mental health.
