#HK, 16 June, 2019. Roads, jam-packed with Hong Kongers dressed in black - to mourn the passing of #antielab protestor, Marco Leung Ling-kit, who had fallen to his death a day earlier.
The demonstration was one of the biggest Hong Kong had ever seen. Organisers estimated a turnout of 2 million + 1. The +1, they said, was Marco, whose spirit marched with them.
Scenes from the huge protest at Hong Kong airport earlier today. Authorities cancelled all flights and there are lots of rumours police are on their way. Most protestors have since left, but several hundred remain.
Teargas in Sham Shui Po
Here's another clip from the August 5 clearance of Sham Shui Po. Police raise a black flag before firing from height into a group of people. One woman shouts, "We're residents!" An old man stumbles away. A canister can be seen hitting a window.
