Cape Breton is a paradise for outdoor fans. And on top: This island reveals numerous breathtaking waterfalls. Cape Breton – the northern part of Nova Scotia – is located at the Atlantic coast of Canada. Blessed with Highlands, the famous Cabot Trail, plenty of beaches, the large Bras d’Or Lake, as well as rivers, brooks and – of course – amazing waterfalls.

The historian community is divided about the first celebration of Thanksgiving in North America. Some researchers assume a connection to the quest for the Nordwest Passage in 1578. After the return of British explorer Martin Frobisher to New Foundland, he felt greatfull surviving the exploration into the Artic Sea.
Other historians claim, that the holiday is rooted in the Englisch Protestant Reform. And another group is locating the very first Thanksgiving celebration in Texas, held by Spanish explorers in 1598. However, Thanksgiving contains aspects of harvest festivals similar to the European tradition. In Germany for example the harvest festival is called “Erntedankfest” and usually held in October. In North America the traditional Thanksgiving meal contains almost the same dishes as in the old times:

• Roasted stuffed turkey
• Sweet potatoes
• Pumpkin pie
• Cranberry sauce
• A variety of vegetables

Being on a coastline is allways something special. The sound of rolling waves. Rocks, sand or even soil under your feet. Feeling the wind roaming around. Breathing fresh air. Smelling the sea. Having the taste of salt on the lips. Recognizing (or not recognizing) how the daily hustle and bustle is shifting away. That’s nature of it’s best.
Diving into the nature is a fantastic method to clear the mind. Especially, if you are a city kid. Only mosquitos and jet fighter bugs I don’t need to be happy. Getting in touch with headlands reaching out into the sea like fingers. Also dramatic cliffs and lonely coves are perfect for getting the boots back on the ground.
A great opportunity being in breathtaking nature is to combine this experience with the exploration of lighthouses. These man-made nautical monuments for maritime safetyness impress with their special attractiveness. Maybe it's the mix of history and the very simple technology of saving life by just sending out a focused beam of light.

When you start your vehicle, knowing that you will drive for hours or days, what do you think in this particular moment? Are you stressed up because you have the feeling that your head is exploding due to overwhelming impressions coming at the same time? Or are you 100 percent cool at all and starting an engine is also the start into a new and wonderful future?
However – we guess there are just as many billions of reasons for turning the key as drivers around the globe.
And all of them feel – earlier or later – the exactly same need for a solution: “Oh my goodness, where do I get the next load of fuel?”
