Another week - another mid week food prep!
Our boys have decided they don’t like eggs for breakfast anymore 🤪 and I have more than enough for baking - so some are getting frozen for when our chickens stop laying. The egg shells were baked and given to our chickens!
Grab-n-go style snacks were prepped for lunches - this is more cost effective than purchasing premade Jell-O, Yogurt Cup and the Mini slaw is great along with lunches for my better half.

Mid week food prep is important in this house - I use up the items that need to be used before a fresh grocery run on Thursday. The kids love this day - because it often gives them new items for their snacks - and why take Oreo cookies when you can have Taco Dip and Tostitos!

It has been beautiful weather the last few days - BUT we’ve been… sick with strep throat - oh blah! Finally we all marched into the ER to get our RX - our healthcare system is something else - ER wasn’t thrilled to see us… boys doctor is on vacation with no fill in! I got stares, glares BUT also a very kind older gentleman that comment on the well behaved 5 boys! We are all on the road to recovery!
And FINALLY I can cross the #1 item off my bucket list:
#1. Go to the ER while solo parenting and get all 5 checked in! Ha! Good times!

Diced Potatoes (sometimes referred to as Homestyle Hashbrowns) are a great way to make a potato dish that isn’t French fries in the summer. Our kids are not a fan of mashed/whipped potatoes in the warmer seasons! Are your kids?
We love to toss these in water and give them a quick 5 minute boil in a frying pan, drain the water, toss in some butter and garlic and then pan fry these! Add some seasonings of choice - we love Vegetable Seasoning, mix in some corn AND you have a great side for grilled chicken, steak or even burgers!
I love to prep a jar of these to put in the fridge for a quick meal side - because who wants to be inside when the Spring weather arrives in SW Ontario!

Recently when in Dollarama I spotted a beautiful set of tiny beads! I knew that they would make a wonderful Mom Time craft at some point - and this week they did! Thing 5 was under the weather and needing much love and “mom sit right beside me” time. So, these beads and some elastic cord made for a wonderful quiet craft! Of course I did manage to kick the bead box and mix all the beads at one point 🫢 - is it even possible to bead without mixing up the beads at one point?! I made a bunch of stackable bracelets and anklets! What have you crafted this week?

Our boys love game nights - right down to the Preschooler! We visited Dollar Tree and picked up two packs of double sized playing cards in the school/office section. With Card Holders in hand - our boys love playing President! Even the our 5 year old is able to play his own hand with little to no help!! If you want an inexpensive game to play with your kids - look this game up on website!!!

Our kids fell in love with Twix Left & Right bars in Myrtle Beach. After lots of Pinterest- Twix inspired cookies were on the menu for a switch up in cookie baking! (Momma desperately needed something else to bake instead of their favourite two cookies)
These are insanely easy with a homemade shortbread style base, melted Kraft Caramels and melted milk chocolate chips! Our kids and their friends have managed to devour all of them this weekend!
If anyone has a favourite cookie recipe - I would love some need ideas!!

Seeing the beautiful colour of the eggs everyday makes me smile! A daily reminder of God’s amazing creation!
Lately, I’ve to let the hens out to free range - each day trying not to think of our two resident hawks that live in our forest! Their personalities have come alive! They follow me around while I am outside, they always have their faces in where I’m moving around the leaves to see if my hostas are coming up and they spy on me through our glass sliding doors - nothing like nosey neighbors 🤪. The best part is seeing them come running to great me! I never thought I would be a chicken lady - but these fluffy, feathered friends make me smile everyday!

I have to admit - this is the best cleaner I’ve tried to date! I love it so much! It has a light and fresh scent, lathers perfectly and leaves your face feeling refreshed and clean!! The daily moisturizer is scent free and has been a great addition to my morning routine!

I had gotten into a bit of a “what to make” slump - because even though my 5 boys love the cookies - I needed to make something different- so Cheesecake Swirled Carrot Cake was the first on the list! Have you ever played the Saran Wrap Trap Game at a party?? I remember the game from my own birthday parties some 30 years ago! It is still a favourite for our kids and their friends! You go through a fair amount of Saran but - the game is loaded with candy and traps! The center of ours is often a bag of chocolate coins (thankfully the dollars stores seem to carry these year around)! So - get rolling a Saran Wrap Trap for the next party you host!
It was a birthday party weekend for our 8 year old! Friends gathered and laughed! We played Saran Wrap Trap, What’s in the Balloon, Pin the Rider on the dirt bike, and musical chairs! I also had a birthday bingo game but we ran out of time! Good thing we have more birthday’s coming up!
If you are looking for a great place for inexpensive birthday decor - I would suggest Dollar Tree over Dollarama!!

Okay so - it has been longer then a week - but this stuff was worth the wait for the review! This stuff is amazing! We’ve used it on inflamed faces from snot (yup thing 5!), dry hands (the whipped one), cuts and burns, and I have been using it on my face! I have Rosacea and my face is feeling amazing with using this! If you are looking for some Tallow Balm - try it out!! Our Thing 5 ended up in ER with a sliced knee needing stitches! I will definitely be putting this on once the bandage comes off!!

Today we made Crisp Chicken Wraps! We added Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cheese, Chicken and Ranch Dressing! Then crisped them up in a frying pan on the stovetop! YUM!

You know those wood bead garlands? Yes! Many homes have them as decor on shelves, on tables, etc. This is a spin on those! Pastels for springtime!
I used some beads and suede rope that I had on hand in my craft bins! I’m sure online retailers like carasupply you will find similar items to make one yourself! CaraSupply actually made a beautiful one that inspired this!
I used acrylic beads in a very random order…thing 4 helped by handing me the next bead! Thing 5 found the wooden carrots and wanted to attach these as well - I attached the carrots with just a bow knot so they can easily come off! It was a mommy’s craft time turned into everyone helps!

Bruschetta is a FAVOURITE appetizer in our home! Even our kids who are not tomato lovers like this! It’s easy! It’s able to be prepped in advance! It’s delicious! Directions: Mix all ingredients shown. Bake a flatbread for 7-10minutes on 400.
