If you only think about yourself at the detriment of other people, then, you are selfish and you need to change your ways. Because life is not only about you or the things that concerns you alone. If you can't be a Vaccine to give life, don't be a virus to terminate it.

Less than 24 hours after the demise of Actor Sisi Quadri, another Veteran Nollywood Actor, John Okafor with the popular known as Mr Ibu, has passed away.

After a long battle with blood clotting on his leg, the veteran actor passed away in a hospital in Lagos state on Saturday, March 2 today.

According to family sources, the actor has been on life support after he underwent a second surgery for his ailment recently. The family source said that his blood pressure has been over 200 after he had the surgery and that efforts were being made to stabilize it before he sadly passed away today.

The actor battled with constant clotting of blood on his leg (diseased blood vessels) and other health challenges for years. In October 2023, he came out publicly to seek financial assistance to treat his ailment. There were plans to fly him abroad for further medical care but that plan was aborted by his doctors who believed he wasn't fit to fly.

During the cause of his treatment, his leg was amputated in November 2023. The actor is survived by his wife and children. He was 62 years old.

The veteran actor was very famous for his sterling interpretation of humorous roles in movies.

Her mother was arrested, became ill shortly afterwards, and died 15 days later after seeing an angry mob gather in front of her house. Her brother Marcel Monnier appeared in court, and was initially convicted, but later was acquitted on appeal; Marcel Monnier was deemed mentally incapacitated, and although the judges criticized his choices, they found that a "duty to rescue" did not exist in the penal code at that time with sufficient rule to convict him.

After she was released from the room, Monnier continued to suffer from mental health problems. She was diagnosed with various disorders, including anorexia nervosa,schizophrenia, exhibitionism, and co*******ia. Monnier was a French socialite from a well-respected, bourgeoisie family in Poitiers of old noble origins.

She was renowned for her physical beauty, and attracted many potential suitors for marriage.

In 1874, at the age of 25, she wanted to marry an older lawyer who was not to her mother Louise's liking; she argued that her daughter could not marry a “penniless lawyer”.

Her disapproving mother, angered by her daughter's defiance, locked her in a tiny, dark room in the attic of their home, where she kept her secluded for a whole 25 years.

Louise Monnier and her brother Marcel continued on with their daily lives, pretending to mourn Blanche's death.

None of her friends knew where she was, and the lawyer she wished to marry unexpectedly died in 1885.

On 23 May 1901, the "Paris Attorney General" received an anonymous letter – the author of which is still unknown – that revealed the incarceration:

Monsieur Attorney General: “I have the honor to inform you of an exceptionally serious occurrence. I speak of a spinster who is locked up in Madame Monnier’s house, half-starved and living on a putrid litter for the past twenty-five years – in a word, in her own filth.”

Monnier was rescued by police from appalling conditions, covered in old food and f***s, with bugs all around the bed and floor, weighing barely 25 kilograms (55 lb).

One policeman described the state of Monnier and her bed thus:

“The unfortunate woman was lying completely naked on a rotten straw mattress. All around her was formed a sort of crust made from excrement, fragments of meat, vegetables, fish, and rotten bread… We also saw oyster shells, and bugs running across Mademoiselle Monnier’s bed. The air was so unbreathable, the odor given off by the room was so rank, that it was impossible for us to stay any longer to proceed with our investigation.”

During the third century, an oppressive Roman Emperor called Emperor Claudius II had made it a crime punishable by death to worship and serve Christ. He had decreed the Romans to serve and worship his gods, and deprived the young Roman soldiers of getting married. But an elderly christian had stood his ground for his faith and had insisted on serving Jesus Christ and preaching the love of God to the young soldiers. This was considered a treason against the government.

He was arrested, sentenced to death and jailed. In the last weeks of his life in the prison, the jailer (prison commander) observed that he was very learned and possessed very good christian character, brought his blind daughter to him to be giving her lessons. He taught her about God and told her many Roman histories and stories from the Bible. He taught her the love of God. The blind girl got so used to the elderly christian prisoner. On his last night he left a note for Julia, the blind girl, encouraging her to love God and serve Him. And ending the note, he wrote: "From your Valentine". His death sentence was carried out the next day, February 14, 270 A.D. The name of this martyr was Valentinus, a man who died for standing for the Preaching of the Christ and teaching people about the love of God. So, for his love for God, he was regarded as 'Saint'.

Today, February 14, is known as Valentine Day.
