With the sad news of the death of Slipnots founder member Joey Jordison just aged 46 having suffered from transverse myelitis, a neurological disorder. Our solo artist, Kevin Curran shares his memories of a time gone by as a youngster standing in line waiting to get his merch signed....
RIP

When I was 17, Slipknot came to Perth. They were fast becoming the biggest metal band at the time. Being underage and the show being sold out I couldn’t go see them in concert but they did do an in store signing at the now defunct 78 records.

Me and my friends waited in line just to merely see the mystique in person. I eventually got my turn and got my CD (old much???) and my VHS (Even older much?) signed. They were all creepy as s**t with it being before anyone knew what these maniacs looked like.

I have kept these possessions over the years and hearing the news today about Joey’s death really encapsulates how short life is. 46 is way too young but damn what a legacy to leave behind.
