Get out and support the long time Austin restaurants!

Like who is celebrating 13 years with a ✨HALF OFF✨ 5-course chef’s choice menu this week through Feb 2nd! For just $45, we enjoyed all these yummies:
🌽 fried corn and pecan hushpuppies
🦀 crab fingers in a curry leaf leche de tigre
🌱 roasted beets with horseradish root, crème fraiche, pistachio dukkah
🍄 chickpea socca with a g*i lab pistol, roviola cheese, mushroom conserva
🧅 grilled wild boar, melted spring onions, pecan romesco
🍫 pot de crepe with cinnamon sugar churros

What a fabulous meal, yall! Even if you miss the half off deal, the chef’s tasting menu is available always! Highly recommend! Sit outside in the wine garden on a gorgeous day or inside for more romantic vibes. They had a tent setup out back because it was cold and rainy. They’re prepared for all occasions!

When the SEAFOOD craving hits, always satisfies 🍤

Happened to stop in to an Austin gem for dinner and stumbled upon a few incredible specials of the day that we couldn’t pass up!

East coast oysters are my preference and they had several that were $1.50 each for the night so we got a dozen 🦪! The mussels in white wine and shallot butter were on special for $10! Couldn’t pass up a cup of seafood gumbo because GIMME WARMTH! And this girl loves a shrimp poboy and hushpuppies 🍤! Oh and hubs heard key lime pie for dessert and couldn’t say no 🍰!

Did you know is family owned since 1938? Their seafood is the freshest and whether you want to enjoy dinner there or get some fresh or packaged items to make dinner at home, add them to your list!

Bid Adieu to 2024 with a banger tasting menu last night and what a treat it was! ✨

We usually stay home on NYE and make an epic dinner and ring in the new year with watching East Austin fireworks from our house but this year, we decided to get dressed up and make early dinner reservations !

We started with Pao de Queijo 🧀

Moved on to our choice of Cured Hamachi Tartare or Crispy Potato & Osetra Caviar - we got one of each and wow, what a start 👌🏽

Literally devoured course 3 - Spinach & Catupiry Cheese Agnolotti - 🍝

Next up, Seared Scallop or Sea Bass “Moqueca” - both were excellent but i will forever dream of the sea bass and its broth!

The piece de resistance was a Rosewood Wagyu NY Strip with hen of the woods mushrooms - cooked to perfection and even when I thought I could eat no more, I couldn’t stop! 🥩

The final dish of the night was a Brigaderio, which we watched get plated because we sat at the counter and I drooled every time one was called up!

What a delicious night it was! Bye 2024! Looking forward to even more delicious meals in 2025!

As another year comes to an end, I wanted to take the time to thank you all for following along the last 10 years!

Also, these newest branding headshots are by my very talented friend and photographer ! She seriously is the only person who makes me feel comfortable getting my picture taken!

If you’re new around here, welcome to all things ATX_Bites! Let me do a bit of an intro for you newbies and re-intro for my long time followers:

~ I started this account back in 2014 after going to monthly community table for 4 years and wanting an avenue to share food-only pictures 🍣
~ I’m a born and raised Southern gal - born and raised in southern Louisiana, moved to Mobile for 5 years and to Sugar Land my Jr. year of high school
~ I’m a Longhorn for life - 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
~ My favorite foods are biscuits, fried chicken, gumbo, anything potato - French fries, tots, mashed potatoes, potato chips, curly fries, you name it 🍟
~ I’ve lived in Austin the last consecutive 17 years but also 4 more before that for college at UT 🤘🏽
~ I am a cat lady - currently the proud momma to and sweet Macy (RIP) 😻
~ once I find something I love, whether it’s food, a gadget, a brand, etc. I’m a loyal fan and will go hard to support!
~ sunsets are my favorite and I’m a beach-lover through and through 🏖️
~ my favorite spirit is mezcal, closely followed by tequila
~ rosés and orange wines are my go-tos 🍷
~ I’m married to the LOML for 7 years and going strong

Clear your schedule and plan to make it to for Bistro Remy!

Get your holiday spirit on 🎄 and indulge in all the cozy food at this season’s Bistro Remy popup ! It’s an event I never miss and even go a few times during the 2 weeks!

It’s a prix fixe menu and includes your pick from warm gougères stuffed with comté crémeux or cauliflower soup - you can’t go wrong with either honestly but if you choose just one, GOUGÈRES ALL DAY!

Then get your greens in with the Salade Verte 🥗- guaranteed to be the freshest salad you’ve eaten all day!

Move on to the main feature -
B Œ U F B O U R G U I G N O N with pommes puree - be prepared for instant transportation to heaven!

Pick from the apple 🍎 galette with vanilla soft serve, or the flourless chocolate cake with crème fraîche, or the brebirousse with baguette 🥖 - I’d suggest going with 2 other friends and each ordering a different dessert and then sharing 🙌🏽

The popup goes through December 21st so you still have time. The menu likely won’t be the same as what I described above but I promise you can’t go wrong with anything they have on the menu. You’ll soon understand why is my favorite restaurant!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it ag*in, plan your next date night and thank me later!

Went in for a spontaneous date night with the boo and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered once ag*in! Y’all, the ambiance, service, drinks and food is top tier!

My recommendations:
🍹 Memento Mori - this marg with passionfruit was outstanding!
🍸 Citadelle Gin Martini - hubs said it was perfectly done
🐟 Spicy Bluefin Tuna Cannoli - the perfect amuse bouche but I could eat a whole plate of these!
🧈 Mussels in Absinthe Butter - as good as the first time I had it - my top pick!
🍝 Shrimp and pork belly tortelli - reminded me of an incredible dumpling but a whole plate of it and insanely delicious!
🐓 Fried Chicken - not your usual version of this! Calabrian Chile Jam on the chicken (white or dark meat of your choice), on a sauce of whipped white beans with the most amazing sourdough crepes!

Go to the rooftop after dinner for a drink at Bar Alcina and views on views 🌙🍷

✨ New New ✨ is now open on Rosewood!

Congrats on your long anticipated opening ! This family-friendly, casual pizza spot is located in a historical building (previously Rosewood) and their beer garden out front is also just stunning!

We stopped in for brunch and were so impressed with the space, service and what we ordered:
🍹 Hibiscus Agua Fresca
🥗 Italian Chopped Salad - might be my favorite of the chopped salads I’ve had. This one had little pepperonis and it was perfectly dressed!
🥪 ITALIAN SAMMIE - omg y’all - it’s on a house made hoagie roll and comes with perfectly crispy potato chips and is easily in my top 3 Italian Sandwiches in town ‼️

We will definitely be back for a pizza - I have my eyes on Hot Boy Summer 🍕!

🍸 Now Open 🍸

, your new favorite neighborhood cocktail bar, is now open! Get one of their freezer box cocktails, classic cocktails, beer or wine 🍷!

For those of you who loved on Manor Rd., this cocktail bar is from the same owners in that newly transformed space. The space is a mood - plenty of lounge seating, bar seating and a gorgeous outdoor space - perfect for cooler temps!

We tried and recommend:
🍹 Manor Moontower - this mezcal fan adored it!
🥃 Medicine Man - similar to a Penicillin!
🍸 Freezer Door Martini - perfectly chilled!
🍹 Got a sample of the Breeze Terrace Colada - OMG THIS TRANSPORTED ME TO THE BEACH 🍍 and I will be ordering a whole one soon!

Can’t wait to take all of my friends and go back!

Here is your reminder to not forget about the oldie but goodie spots in Austin that are so so good!

Made it back to recently and was thoroughly impressed with their Italian Sandwich 🥪, Mixed Greens Salad 🍉, and a slice of sausage 🍕! Not pictured, that satisfied this lovin’ gal!

🏃🏽‍♀️run, don’t walk! Get in your car and go to and order the 𝕄𝕒𝕤𝕒 𝕋𝕨𝕚𝕟𝕜𝕚𝕖 with orange and pair it with an atole cortado, horchata cold brew or a Mexican vanilla cappuccino and thank me later!

I have an Italian Sub obsession 🥪

After my last post about the fan favorite Italian from Homeslice, I had to refresh my memory on others on my top list. Here is the Italian from without mayo or tomato 👆🏽

Solid bread ✔️ great bread to meat to provolone to lettuce to hot peppers to pickles to seasoning and oil ratio ✔️

It’s up there on my list of best Italian sandwiches in Austin. I think makes a mean chicken salad sandwich that is probably my preferred sandwich from them!

Celebrated the 7th anniversary of our Tulum wedding at no other than for all the coastal Mexican food deliciousness 🍍🌶️🐠!

They have an incredible happy hour M-Th 5-6PM and F-Sun 3-5PM and we just ordered one of almost everything for a yummy dinner at a great price!

Start off with the Tropical marg 🍹, devour the Guac 🥑, Machaca de Atun 🐟, Cevichito (the ultimate dish) 🐠, Fried Shimp Tostada 🍤 and DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT SAVING ROOM for the Pastel de Elote 🍮. You can thank me later!

The swankiest of cocktail and canapé lounges is now open and sheesh are you in for a treat! 🍸

You’ll find nestled in a historical building off W. 10th with jawdropping decor, vibes on vibes, and plenty of moody rooms to enjoy a drink or canapés with your boo or friends!

If you’re looking to enjoy a meal there, order one of everything on the menu and share with your date!

Start off with the strawberry + coconut cocktail - it was well executed and perfect for the summer 🍓

Must order canapés:
🐠 Citrus cured hamachi - the way the avocado puree was piped on these cuties was just 👌🏽
🍞 Chawanmushi Toast - usually don’t eat uni but this toast was exceptional!
🧀 Masa Gougères - I’ll never say no to a gougères of any kind
🐓 Chicken Nuggets - farrrrr from basic! That whipped dill crème fraiche though - didn’t leave even a drop behind!

📣 Now, in all honesty, this is a pricey spot - meant for an occasion. Or at least that’s what I’d reserve it for. And the bites are small so know you’ll drop a pretty penny for a meal. But, there isn’t another experience like this in Austin so for the culinary precision, taste, experience, cocktails, vibes, it’s worth it! My opinion…so there!

W O W, this poke left me speechless!

It’s warm outside and instantly, I’ve started craving all the poke and well, not only satisfies the craving, but also is the best poke I’ve had in town!

I made my own bowl with salmon, spicy tuna, spicy ponzu, crispy garlic, pickled red onion, 🥒, brown rice and mixed greens, and 🥑 and my tummy was so happy!

Can’t wait to try more! Oh, and the portion was huge and well worth the $15! I saw you can get NACHOS as your base! They have two trucks - 📍 one on E. Cesar Chavez and one south - so you have zero excuses not to give them a try!
