Lost Highway is the second short in our Proof of Concept series created in collaboration with Flynn Brothers Studios. This series was created to demonstrate how a chromakey studio to can be used for film production when you do not have the resources to shoot on location. Flynn Brothers Studios created a platform in order to mimic a moving carriage, as a prototype, for another film project. Once we saw the platform in action, we knew we need to create a short narrative that utilized the platform for one our productions, and the vignette for the Detective and the Femme Fatale was born.

Chess in the Park is the first of a series of shorts created in collaboration with Flynn Brothers Studios. Each short is a proof of concept utilizing a chromakey stage to produce a short film vignette. Not everyone has the budget or capability to shoot their film projects on location. This series tackles a variety of ideas and genres to see what is possible to create, mostly in post, with little or no budget.

We were not aiming for Hollywood blockbuster quality. In fact, all the shorts to be released were shot in a single day, a marathon, as it was described. The goal was to make each setup simple with a limited number of shots for each short, no more than 2 pages of dialogue, and produced with minimal crew. It was a fun and exhausting day for everyone.

The majority of work however is in post-production, and that is where Bang Zoom Pow brings its toolbox of creativity to the table. With the exception of the actors and a few practical set pieces, everything in these shorts is digitally created ... and no corners were cut using AI.

Production of this series happened because of the generosity of the people involved. Everyone donated their time, equipment and expertise to bring these stories to life. Even the actors supplied their own wardrobe. If you know anyone that worked on these shorts, take a moment shout out to them for their part. It's amazing what can be accomplished when you have a passionate team with a shared vision. Enjoy.
