With help from family, friends and you guys, we aim to rally together a network of talented Creatives, several communites and possibly the world in order to create each MKTB issue. MKTB /mak-toob/, meaning "It's writte
n", is a digital online publication documenting the fashion, arts and creative culture of Muslims, PoC and those around them. We started off with one goal, to do whatever it takes to launch our first issue in 30 days. "Why in 30 days?", I hear you ask. Well quite simply to prove that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Through documenting and sharing our journey we hope to continuously inspire and empower our followers. That idea, that dream, whatever it is; just start and take it from there. Our long term aim is to create more jobs and a space for creatives through the magazine, particularly within B.A.M.E communities. Growing up, founder Ni'mah of Brimah + John, believed there wasn't a space for her in the creative industry. "Seeing people like me, doing what I dreamed of on social media played a large part in quelling the negative voices in my head" she says. "However those people are far and few and there are many more young creatives like I who need to know, they can do it too". Very often we're told if there's no space for you, make space. The MKTB team believe in the power of "we". We can do it. We can make a change. We can move mountains. Below is included the many ways in which you can support the journey.
