Continuing the recent resurgence of interest in Pamela Harrison’s work, this album presents a compelling collection of her chamber music and songs, curated by the esteemed clarinettist Robert Plane. The album showcases Harrison’s distinctive style, characterized by an elegant, understated idiom reflective of mid-20th- century English music.

This album features the premier recordings of a selection of Harrison’s songs, alongside her chamber works, ranging from large-scale ensemble pieces to intimate miniatures. The performers, a mix of distinguished teaching staff from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama - Coleg Brenhinol Cerdd a Drama Cymru and talented recent graduates, bring fresh vitality to Harrison’s music, ensuring her legacy endures.

Here's there second of our December releases - 'A Brother Abroad' by Bussey Composer.

The album showcases baritone Marcus Farnsworth, soprano Alison Rose, and an ensemble led by pianist Libby Burgess, alongside Emma Halnan (flute), George Strivens (french horn), & Stephen Burke (percussion).

In 'A Brother Abroad', Martin Bussey’s rich compositional voice vividly brings to life the fascinating figure of Peter of Bologna, a fourteenth-century Franciscan bishop. This album also features songs cycles 'A Chainless Soul' and 'Children of Adam' with texts by Emily Brontë and Walt Whitman respectively, and highlights Bussey’s flair for dramatic storytelling and his deep connection to English song, cementing his reputation as a distinctive contemporary voice.

In the first of our forthcoming December release, Ceruleo celebrate the music of Barbara Strozzi, one of the greatest composers of the seventeenth century, and the most published composer of secular song of her time. Her distinctive style is characterised by virtuosic vocal lines, sophisticated interplay between voices and accompaniment, and a dramatic approach to text setting that went above and beyond that of her influences Claudio Monteverdi and Francesco Cavalli.
