Expect to find a heavy, subby version of “In Your Life” with Lisa Tomlins taking over vocals, an upbeat reggae cover of William DeVaughan’s “Be Thankful For What You Got”, or a version of “Woah! There’s No Limit” with influences of soul and early hip-hop amen breaks.

It’s vinyl release day !  collective brings a refreshing fusion of classic Afrobeat, disco and West African funk. On a mission to reproduce the analogue warmth and groove of the 70s and 80s, they lean heavily on live production techniques free from the predictable rigidity of digital sequencing.

Members include multi-instrumentalist Simon Durrington and Olugbade Okunade (former trumpet player from Seun Kuti’s Egypt 80), as well as Ghanaian singer Gabriel Otu, and Papuan musician Ray Lédon.
