We can spend our whole lives trying to understand the love of God and never fully grasp it in our limited minds. Paul tells us in the book of Ephesians that it is a love that "surpasses knowledge" (3:19). In this episode we will see a depiction of God's love that should take our breath away! This is a passage in Zephaniah that describes an ecstatic love and delight poured out from a perfect God onto a sinful people. God's love doesn't always make sense. The only explanation is complete and utter mercy and grace.
We are in the last episode of our Zephaniah series and if there ever was a climax to a book of the Bible, this is it! Come and join us on this epic conclusion to a book that displays God's justice and love, and ultimately, a picture of the cross.
Episode is now available on Spotify and Apple podcasts, and other major platforms.
Lastly, friends, we are getting SO excited about our third season coming up after a short 7 week break. We will be busy recording episodes and also resting. We hope you can get caught up with other episodes during this time, and make sure to subscribe so you are ready for our return in early September for a great giveaway!
❤️❤️❤️
Last week we followed the tragic scene of the continued rebellion of the people. God's kindness hadn't led them to repentance, and neither had His judgement. And yet even amid this tragedy, we saw His love; God continued to work for His people.
This week we turn a corner as we follow the journey of the prophecy through Zephaniah, and we learn that restoration is coming to a remnant of people. And that remnant of people are those that have been hidden in God, hidden in His righteousness. And today, that is the same promise for those of us in Christ. We can be hidden in Him on the coming day of judgement, but also in the everyday struggles.
Thank you for continuing on this journey through Zephaniah, come step into the beauty of restoration today!❤️

We are continuing on in our journey of Zephaniah, and this week we will see in Chapter 3 an incredible picture of a God who longs for His people to draw near to Him.
God is not in need, He is not lonely, and WE are the ones, just like Judah, who rebel and turn away and choose to go against His ways. And yet He longs for us to draw near to Him! This is an incomprehensible kind of love! It should make us raise our hands and say, who is this incredible God?
We will also step into a deeper picture of God's judgement and learn more of the purpose of it, and in fact, we will also talk about why we should celebrate His judgement. Part of God's justice and judgement is bringing in what we can call a "holy tough love" for His people. And this week is also building up to our last two weeks of this series during which we will see one of the most beautiful pictures of God's love in the entire Bible.
Don't miss this week as we follow along and learn from this incredible book!
Now available on Apple, Spotify, and all major podcast platforms!❤️
We pray and hope that the story of Zephaniah is captivating you, drawing you in, teaching you more about God, and also showing you how to go deeper in your walk or to reflect on your own life.
We are in week three of our 6-week Zephaniah devotional series. In weeks one and two we had to swallow the difficult news that God was bringing judgement to the nations and His people. But here in week three we learn through the book of Zephaniah that God made a promise to His people in spite of the coming day of judgement and trouble. Some would be hidden in God on that day, some would be preserved despite what was coming. But who? And how?
Tune in to find out who was hidden on the day of trouble, and also, how today WE can also be hidden in God through whatever comes our way.
We are so glad you are joining us on this journey through the book of Zephaniah!

Welcome friends, to our six-week devotional series on the book of Zephaniah! Journey with us in this book, a story of a world that looked much like our own:
Crooked political and religious leaders, nations contenting with nations, declining faith, believers looking more like the world than the God who chose them, the worship of money, and so much more...
The prophet Zephaniah was called to prophesy of the coming day of trouble and judgement on both God's people and the nations in response to abounding evil. But God was bringing His justice and love, not justice or love. And God's justice shows us just how deep His love truly is.
The story of Zephaniah shows us that not only is God working in our waiting, God is working even when He has been completely forgotten. And not only is God working, He is moving ever closer to us- even in our forgetting-sometimes using His hand of discipline to draw us back to Him.
And despite the chaos of the world and our own wayward hearts, God will ultimately keep His people hidden in Him in the day of trouble.
So come and join us these 6 weeks, and journey with Zephaniah as we learn through this redemptive story that God loves and delights in His people as He draws them to Himself.

If one of the purposes of God’s word is to bring us freedom, how do we reconcile this with the hard-to-swallow passages or doctrines of Scripture, such as hell and judgement? Topics that are often unpopular in culture and hard to understand?
We were thrilled to welcome award-winning author of, “Skeletons in God’s Closet: The Mercy of Hell, the Surprise of Judgement, and the Hope of Holy War”, Joshua Ryan Butler, to the podcast today to talk about these difficult topics. We are confident you will be encouraged after you listen to his insight from Biblical truths, and you may leave with a significant paradigm shift!
We had hundreds of you submit inquiries about the topic of hell and we are so grateful that Josh answers many of these questions on the podcast today. You do not want to miss this episode! Now available on Spotify, Apple, and other major podcast platforms. Link in Bio!👏👏
“Can a woman be a pastor?”
At one point this was the #1 question being asked on the popular Bible question site, @gotquestionsministries
Today we are opening up a can of worms about a very hot topic in the church: The role of women in the church.
This is a significant topic because it has to do with the overall structure of the Church. It’s essential that we look to God’s word for our guidance on this topic.
But what do we do when two sides firmly believe they have done this, yet they end up with differing perspectives?
We pray. We engage in hard conversations, and we always look at the full context of scripture.
This week, we are diving into two viewpoints on this topic: Egalitarianism and Complementarianism.
As we walk through these viewpoints, we dig deep into scripture and share our takeaways. While what we cover in this episode is certainly not exhaustive, our hope is that through what we share you feel more empowered and equipped to study further, pray, and even engage in conversations with others who might have a different perspective.
When we do these things, we allow ourselves to walk in the freedom that Christ has set forth for us.
Thank you for joining us this week on the Abiding Free podcast. Now available on Apple and Spotify, link in profile. ❤️❤️
Are you feeling exhausted, weary or burned out?
You are not alone.
The more our world progresses, the more intentional we need to be about where to say yes, when to say no, and who to turn to when we feel that we are coming undone.
Our world is so noisy, and it constantly tugs at us, leaving us to feel that if we put boundaries in place and sit in quiet, we are being unproductive and becoming insignificant.
We want you to know that while the above sentiment is very real, it could not be further from the truth.
When hope feels lost, the best place to turn to is Jesus. Jesus was fully human, constantly needed, and His life was hands down the most important life to ever exist. He lived 30 years, and his ministry didn’t even begin until the last three years of his life!
Three years to cram in hundreds of miracles and change the world, yet he
never burned out. So why do we?
He took time away to sit with God, even when others needed Him. So why don’t we?
This week, we are covering all of that and more. Burnout does not have to be inevitable. And healthy boundaries can bring freedom!
