Baeder & Beck host songwriter circle and jam session at Lost Boy Creations in Key West this Friday, May 7th
Key West, Florida -- Key West guitar maestro Larry Baeder and songwriter Chicago Mike Beck will host a song circle and jam session this Friday, May 7, 2021 from 4pm ’til 8pm at bespoke surf shop Lost Boy Creations (417 Southard Street, Key West, Florida 33040). All are welcome.
Singers and songwriters will share performances of original works and favorite cover songs at an acoustic song circle which will begin at 4pm. At 6pm, Baeder & Beck will perform a set, joined by special guests, which will be followed by a free-wheeling jam session lasting ’til 8pm.
Local Key West songwriters and musicians scheduled to participate include Jenn Cleary (JennCleary.com), Steve Wik (SteveWik.com), Juliana MacDowell (JulianaMacDowell.com) and others.
Larry Baeder is renowned for his spectacular touring and recording career, having worked with such musical luminaries as Smokey Robinson, Carly Simon, Buddy Guy, Jane Siberry and so many more, but he has been a fixture of the Key West music scene since moving here from New York City years ago to raise his kids.
Although “Chicago” Mike Beck has spent the last two decades touring North America, Europe and Asia, he had never been to Florida until earlier this year. Beck arrived in Key West for a week-long visit in January and still hasn’t left! He’s been performing several times each week in the Keys, both solo and with his band Chicago Mike’s InterGalactic Brother & Sisterhood of Big Eyed Beans From Venus. He departs for recording sessions in Woodstock, New York on May 20th, but plans to return to Key West in January 2022.
