Bryn was born in Harare Zimbabwe in 1975 on 18 October, and is the son of renowned sculptor Richard Mteki.Bryn himself is a well traveled world famous sculptor .Creativity has always been his family’s inheritance, beginning with his late uncle Boira Mteki who is one of the first generation Zimbabwean Sculptors to be recognized worldwide .His creativity produced compilation of music of t

he African origin since his artworks also portray some reality of the African society. So to speak, the music is like a movement from and to the artworks which have been already been meaningful to everyone who comes across it. His music, is product of his perseverance to bring variety to true Zimbabwean traditional arts fro the stone medium to fine Melody ,His long time friend R Kelly encouraged him to try and put voices to his impressive sculptures through complementing his talent with singing. As a man who always takes advice, Sekurutau gave a try in the new art and the venture unexpectedly turned to gold. His first album Kurauone which was released in 2000 went platinum and it heralded the arrival of a new talented kid on the mbira music block. African Roots music is his style that is heavy with emphatic mbira melodies which are well fused with his deep voice that has become a common and popular feature of the Zimbabwean music scene.
