Shortly after leaving the office, Daddy Ryan and I made the spontaneous decision to travel to Pampanga, particularly Clark, to explore its attractions like Dinosaur Island. We also went to Subic Zambales and stayed there for our second night and visited Bataan to experience the wonders of Zoobic Safari.

Undoubtedly, Father’s Day 2023 became an extraordinarily happy occasion for us!

Sir: Oo, 18K monthly binbayad ko (amortization)

Me: Im sure insured ang new car mo boss. 🙂

Sir: Ay oo naman, required yan pag kumuha ka ng brand new car sa casa.

Me: ah, ganun po ba? kumuha ka din insurance nyan? para saan daw po yun?

Sir: Oo, para kung ano man, mangyari, magasgasan o maaksidente eh may sasalo ng gastos. Mahirap na, buti na yung ready tayo.

Me: Maganda nga yan sir, eh Ikaw ba Sir, insured ka din ba? paano kung ikaw o ang family mo ang sakay sa maganda mong car sa oras na hindi inaasahan? May sasalo din ba ng gastos para sa iyo?

Sir: “Ang lakas lakas ko pa pinapatay mo na ako.”

Me: Para saan po ba ang seatbelt, airbag at spare tire ng sasakyan? Nilagay yang mga yan dahil alam ng designer na hindi natin masasabi kung kailan tayo mapapahamak, tama po ba sir?

Sir: (Natulala at napaisip na lang)

If you talk to someone who has been working for years, he'll tell you that he earns more than what he used to, but his quality of life has not improved.

The more he works, the more he spends, and the faster his income disappears.

If you want to escape this vicious cycle, you must pay yourself first and invest some money away for future use.

Another thing is that our culture of consumption is often what pulls us into this cycle in the first place.

Buying things you don't actually need. Buying things just to solicit likes and impress people. And to what end?

At some point, the stuff you own starts to own you. Whatever you spend your money on, make sure it adds to your quality of life.

Life is a journey, and you don't want to spend that journey on a wheel going nowhere.
