Austin sent through a photo of her Just Seventeen bags that came with the magazine. I use mine from the mid-1980s to store some of the old issues! Did you keep any freebies?

First to last! Just Seventeen was first published in the UK as a fortnightly magazine on 20 October 1983. Later it went weekly. It was renamed J-17 in 1996. It went monthly in the noughties. The last ever issue came out in May 2004.
Here are the covers and staff lists from those first and last issues, plus a couple in between. Which era of Just Seventeen/J-17 do you remember best?

Flashback to 12 November 1986 when Just Seventeen model competition winner, Sarah Bishop, was featured on the cover and whisked off to New York for a fashion shoot.
Fun fact: she later featured in the music video of George Harrison's Got My Mind Set On You.

26/9/90 issue - a baby-faced Kate Moss adorns the fashion pages! The fashion department back then was Julie Sleaford, Carole Billington and Stephanie Stevens.

I’m still good friends with Catherine Morris - the stylist for this 1989 Christmas fashion shoot.

Don’t remember her ever spelling her name with a K though… Typo perhaps? Where’s that production editor when you need her? 🤣

One of illustrator Max Ellis’s early illustrations in the magazine. Max went on to be a hugely successful illustrator and photographer. When this particular illustration was published my and Max’s baby Ruby was nine months old. Ruby is now a journalist and will be 36 in December!
