The label's moniker is derived from Captain Pouch and the Midland Revolt, a popular uprising in early modern England against the enclosures of the commons, led by John Reynolds aka "Captain Pouch". Much like the Captain Pouch and "levelers" of yore, the label's mission is to level enclosures, but in this case of the industry's obsession with musical genres.
