New song 89 to 22 out this Friday. As many of you know, my sister Jenn passed away in November of last year. Jenn was an incredible writer and is single handedly the reason I love writing as much as I do. We talked about writing lyrics together over the years so many times and I really regret never getting the opportunity to share that experience with her. As a way to honor her, I wrote the lyrics to 89 to 22 about Jenn’s passing, combining both my lyrics and lines from some of her old poems. If you pick up a copy of On All That’s Real at our release show on October 13, you’ll see on the back that lyrics for this song are credited as co-written by the two of us. Jenn was such a huge supporter of Canetis and admittedly playing shows hasn’t been the same since she’s been gone. However, between the outpouring of love shown to her after her death and everyone’s incredible support helping us raise $20,000 at The Concert for Jenn, I’m grateful for the reminders that her spirit lives on. Can’t wait for you to hear this one and the rest of the EP. - Brendan
