Let’s just say that my life hasn’t gone as planned. I went to school for Kinesiology with hopes of working in either Physical Therapy or Athletic Training. I was able to get my foot in the door through internships in 2019 and was able to get a job in the field in 2020 after earning my degree. All of a sudden, my life took a drastic turn in the Summer of 2022 during a workout one random night. After a non-stop migraine, room spinning vertigo, and neck pain for two weeks, I was diagnosed with Vestibular Migraine and Cervicogenic Vertigo. After numerous trial and errors with medications, various therapies, and a concussion that occurred at my previous job, my situation suddenly turned from bad to worse.
Just eight months ago, my level of severity reached the point where I had to be hospitalized numerous times and I had to be admitted due to having stroke-like symptoms. I even had a nurse tell me “I really thought they were going to admit you as a stroke patient. I’ve never seen a migraine this severe.” While I’m thankful to not always be in constant severe pain anymore, this is still a 24/7 problem for me that has severely affected my life.
It was always crazy to me how I went from living a relatively healthy life to being in chronic, debilitating pain almost every day. To say it has taken time to adjust to this new lifestyle is an understatement. Once I felt like my future was being taken away from me, I fell into a depression that I’m currently working my way through. One thing that has helped bring some joy back into my life is getting back into exercise. I decided to experiment if regular exercise would actually help. Not only has it helped me physically, but it has helped mentally as well. I decided to start this page with the goal of helping others with chronic illness with tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way as well as promoting how to exercise safely. I would also love to answer any questions you all might have. Thank you all for the support😊💜
