Sad news to hear today.

It is with immense sadness that the Wallis Family announce the passing of cinema industry legend, and long time Wallis employee, Robert (Bob) Parr, OAM.

A stalwart of the cinema industry, Bob started as a trayboy at the Hi-line Drive-In in 1957 before returning to the Chelsea Cinema in 1971, where he worked in all facets of cinema management and witnessed all manner of technological change over that time.

In his time as Programming Manager of Wallis Bob maintained strong relationships with both exhibitor and distributor and fought hard for the recognition of Independent Cinemas across Australia. Bob had a love for Musicals such as Les Miserables, and Epics such as Ben Hur, and most recently hosted our Nostalgia screenings on Wednesdays across the Wallis group.

One of cinema’s true showmans, Bob will be greatly missed within the Wallis group.

Fantastic news to hear.

Congratulations Greig Fraser ACS ASC. OSCAR in Cinematography.

The Australian cinematographer has received his first gold statue from the Academy with his second nomination for cinematography on feature “Dune”.

Greig said in his winner’s speech from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood “Wow listen I am so happy this award is up early so I can get out and get to the bar“

Greig Fraser ACS ASC became the 6th Australian cinematographer to receive the OSCAR in Cinematography. “My crew. I am not going to name them all because it will take to long. But I will call you all straight after this. And speaking of calling, Mum I will return your call and I apologise”.

The Australian Cinematographers Society congratulates Greig on this wonderful moment in his career. “Most importantly to my wife Jodie, my children Felix, Leo and Poppy in allowing a middle aged man to go out and play with his friends in the sand dunes for six months. Pretty amazing so thank you. I will be home in time for dinner”.

Retiring National President Ron Johanson OAM ACS says “Warmest congratulations to Greig and the Dune crew. Well done Greig, watched at home and another proud moment.”and from National President Erika Addis “Huge congratulations to Greig and team from all your ACS friends and colleagues, bravo bravissimo!”

The ACS congratulates all nominees of the 94th OSCAR in Cinematography including Australian cinematographer Ari Wegner ACS for “The Power of the Dog”.

Adelaide once had 35 Drive-in cinemas. Sadly on the 25th & 26th we will see the final screenings of the Wallis Cinemas Mainline Drive-in. The last remaining drive in in Adelaide. All other Wallis locations remain open for business.

We've even secured a sexy Aston Martin DB6 to pull up out front for the evening so you can live your full Bond fantasy. No draping yourself over the bonnet though, our insurance doesn't cover that fantasy...

Production slowly continues on Your Stories season 3. Between lockdowns and restrictions, it's been delayed a fair bit.

As of 6 pm tonight. All production services are suspended until further notice. Due to the SA Lockdown.

Post-production that can be performed remotely is still available.

With news from the SA Government, this morning regarding a covid-19 case we have decided to again restrict the production services were provide until further notice.

We are still happy to provide information/quotes for our services but will assess everything on a case to case basis. This may mean we schedule services for a later date.

Post-production/Editing Services are unaffected and will be conducted remotely.

The state government and health authorities are encouraging everyone to remember to QR Check-in.
