Taken from his upcoming album "Remote Motel" out November 3rd!

"Someone gets ahead and keeps going and you never got to make them really love you. You couldn't get there in time, to the openness. And now they are getting farther away and you're moving like you're underwater, like a dream where your legs don't work, you can't throw a punch and your gun has no bullets.

Writing a song from a movie I never even saw, for a scene in a motel bar when it's cold outside. A song to be sung to five or six underwater people and maybe only one of them comes up for air.

I wrote this song but anyone could sing it, anyone that is moving slower than the people around them.

It's a song about static shame and memory. Forgiveness too. It's a song about the shots you miss when you can't find the bullets.

Today we share with you ‘Vertigo’ the second single taken from John Southworth’s ‘When you’re this, this in love’.

“It was made on the hottest day when the studio air conditioner was broken. Drooping plants and vintage lamps soaking up the humidity. I don’t think I’ve ever sung so quiet. On such a day music gets stretched, makes crystals on the spine, rain in the stomach. You’re no longer singing to animated things, you’re singing alongside something other, something without the armor of life but you’re not really aware of it when it’s happening you just put two and two together after the fact and then it dawns on you.”

‘When you’re this, this in love’ is out May 12 on Tin Angel Records.
