OUT TODAY:
We have two very different, but equally exciting, albums.
First off we have Valenta, the new album from Bronx rapper Hester Valentine. Combining classic East Coast hip-hop, abstract and noise he's the most fresh and exciting rapper I've heard in years.
Also out today is the soundtrack by Simon Hanes of Tredici Bacci for the movie Cash Cow by Matt Barats.
Written by, directed by, and starring Barats, Cash Cow is an almost entirely solo project. It's beautifully shot, hilarious and truly unique.
Hanes' music is the perfect accompaniment to the movie, with everything from banjo and accordion to string quartets and vocal choirs.
Hester Valentine, Simon Hanes and Matt Barats: three ambitious and truly independent artists. I'm honoured to be involved in putting out these releases.
