Coming in 2024.
While Church Revitalization is important and still in the DNA of the podcast. However, as many of you may have noticed earlier this year, we also began to focus on some things within the Church.

So, we will focus on many aspects and plan to also do self-care for ourselves. While at the beginning of the podcast in 2017, we hoped to get sponsors and do weekly episodes, life in revitalization is a grind. So we will do seasons of 10-12 episodes and have a 3-month layover for the time being.

The relaunch will be in January 2024. so be on the look out.

And with it comes a new name to fit the change in direction.

The latest episode looks at an issue that is happening in New England and spreading to a state near you.

A recent survey shows that nearly 130,000 people left Massachusetts in 2022. This will impact churches and is starting to in smaller churches. While this will help some nearby states, we consider why and why pastors, denominations, and networks should be concerned.

Revitalization

Every Sunday about 4000 churches close a year, most of these can be stopped through revitalization and replanting efforts by denominations and networks that have become aware of and a heart to stop the decline in America’s churches. Our hosts are Erik Maloy, pastor of First Church in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston, and Don McKinnon, Pastor of Legacy Church at First Baptist Church of Sutton in the West Sutton village of Sutton, MA. Erik has 15 years of pastoral experience and Don has 25 years. Erik is in the urban Charlestown neighborhood of Boston, Don is in the rural West Sutton village of Sutton. They bring two very different areas that revitalization is needed in. They have hearts to see churches return to be thriving lights in the dark world, and want to share their real time successes and failures with other pastors called to revitalize dying and dead churches. Our third co-host is Sam Jimenez, pastoral candidate at First Church, who brings a different side of revitalization from a very different POV than our other 2 co-hosts as a layman who’s heart is equally hungry to see dying churches become healthy multiplying churches.
