Just a bunch of friends from Utrecht, scouring the city for suitable locations where they would throw smashing raves. Combining house, techno and a great atmosphere, these parties were an instant success and SlapFunk rapidly grew a solid fanbase. Two years after the first party, the boys took it to another level with their first release, soon followed by a second and a third one and so one. Upcomi

ng talents like Malin Genie, Samuel Deep, Anil Aras and Larry de Kat are responsible for these EP’s. Pressed on vinyl, ‘cause SlapFunk is all about the Raw House Music. All in all, SlapFunk submerged from the underground but never forgot where it came from. It’s more of a movement than a host or label, and the people behind it work hard to steer this movement in the right direction.

Rasa, inspired by the Spanish term la Raza (‘the people’), represents unity and culture. That’s the energy we’re bringing to this night.

SlapFunk returns with another slamming various artist ep full of on point joints that bring the raw to the floor.

Hitting volume 7 in the Raw Joints series the label has finely selected a range of tracks, representing the spectrum of their infectious sound that never fails to get the party jumping and fists pumping. Swinging house, tribal rhythms, maximal grooves and ravey breaks will all do the damage on the dancefloor.

This will be another essential ep that crosses over to a wide variety of DJ’s and stay in their bags and playlists for a while. Music that hits so hard and hurts so good, that’s the SlapFunk sound.

New Year’s day is always our favourite time to play and kick off the next chapter with a bang.

For part 1 we’ll be back to Slap Klaproos, our new favourite after party venue. Needless to say we’ll have the sound and selectors that are going to keep you going all day long.

THROWBRET THURSDAY 👀

We couldn’t be more grateful for the wild energy that this year’s ADE brought to BRET. We threw down harder than ever before during what’s become the most essential week for electronic music, hosting more parties than ever. Each night had its own unique pulse, bringing in some of the hottest talent across Amsterdam’s best spots, and this year was hands down one for the books.

Big love to every artist who came through to drop fire on the decks, taking us to new levels with every set. Watching you work your magic and seeing the floor erupt was something else. Huge thanks also to the venues and teams who welcomed us and made sure everything ran at top level, helping us bring the music to life in the best possible way.

And of course, massive respect to our relentless SlapFam—front of house, behind the scenes, you know who you are. None of it happens without your commitment and passion. We see you, and we appreciate you more than words can say.

Finally, to all of you who come out, bring the energy, and keep the vibe electric on the dance floor: you’re the heartbeat of what we do. Our feet might be sore, but our spirits are soaring from the music and all the good vibes.
