World Athletics has announced its nominees for Women’s World Athlete of the Year. 🏆

The winner will be determined by 50% from the World Athletics Council’s vote, World Athletics Family’s votes and public votes will each count for 25% of the result. The finalists will be announced on Nov. 13-14. Winner announced on Dec. 11.

Most notably absent from the nominees is , who just won the Chicago Marathon in 2:13:44 (second-fastest marathon in history) just 43 days after earning a bronze medal in the 1500m and silver medal in the 5000m at the World Championships. 🤔 💭

✍🏻 Harvard’s .ramsden, the 2023 NCAA 1500m champion, has signed an NIL deal with

Ramsden is one of the best runners in the Ivy League and closed hard (63.27 for her final lap) to win the 1500m in 4:08.60 at the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Austin in June.

She holds ’s school records in the indoor 1000m (2:43.03); outdoor 1500m (4:08.60), indoor mile (4:30.19), indoor 3000m (8:54.39) and outdoor 5000m (15:40.05).

The BAA announced that runners for the 2024 Boston Marathon (April 15, 2024) had to be 5 minutes, 29 seconds faster than the qualifying time for their respective age groups to be accepted.

📊 33,058 qualifier applications received

✅ 22,019 qualified applicants accepted

🎯 The targeted field size for the race is 30,000 runners, which includes charity and invitational entries.

In 2022 and 2023, any runner who hit their qualifying time was accepted into the race.
