Mr. John Young
US Air Force, Staff Sergeant during the Korean War
Location Entered Service: Bakersfield, CA
Dates of Service: December 1950 to August 1954
Mr. Young took basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas. He served with the 5th Command Group as a legal clerk and air inspector office clerk. During 1952 to 1953, he served overseas in Seoul, South Korea. He also served stateside at Warren AFB, Wyoming; Patrick AFB, Florida; as well as at Phoenix, Arizona.

Mr. Young was on Honor Flight #33 during May 2018 to Washington DC to see HIS memorials and receive honor for his military service.

Our love and prayers for Mr. Young’s family.

Celebration of the Holy Mass will be held on June 3, 2023 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 124 Columbus Street, Bakersfield, 93305.
Services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, 93306.

Mr. Bill Zobel
US Navy, E-3 during the Vietnam War
Location Entered Service: Concord, CA
Dates of Service: August 1973 to December 1975
After basic training at San Diego, Mr. Zobel served in Aviation Maintenance Administration (AZAN) with the VF-191 Fighter Squadron at Naval Station Miramar, CA. He served on the attack carrier USS Oriskany. He was also stationed at Naval Station Cubi Point in the Phillippines.

Mr. Zobel was on Honor Flight #36 during October 2018 to Washington DC to see HIS memorials and receive honor for his military service. Almost five years ago, he met several new brothers and sisters who also served in our armed services. Since then, he has kept in touch with so many and has attended nearly all of the monthly breakfasts.

Our love and prayers for Mr. Zobel’s family and Park Stockdale community.

Mr. Zobel's memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 30, 2023 at Rock Harbor Church, 3633 Rosedale Hwy, Bakersfield, 93308.
