Latest idea: manually synchronize clocks from a video player (ex: app) with an editor app. Pause playback, etc. Once synchronized the other app could mute the device, over lay a pop-up to o disable vídeo, etc.

Somewhat related, each movie could have a "confidence score" like "I got 80% of it done" (toward some target, like "for a 3 year old") or what have you... :)

Latest slant: have "shared editable" playlists...like a shared one called "edits out profanity" and multiple people can contribute to it. Of course there's still the option to watch with everything edited out from all the various lists.

Another idea: notifications, ex: if someone "modifies" an edit you did, or adds an edit to a movie you already have an "edit list" made up for, it notifies you on the web or email, some kind of notification. You can revert the changes or modify them again, so kind of like wikipedia "inbox" notifications when things change. Or automatically or manually add new edits to your edit list, depending on how you set it up, etc.

OK latest thought is...when you edit a movie you add to the list of global shared edits. Then if you want to, you can make a personalized playlist of the list of total edits "bob's personalized edit list". Then if Bob wants to, he could make one "watch this the way Bob intended it, with only Bob's edits!" so basically a personalized edit list of just the original editor's edits. If that makes sense...
