A couple weeks to go for our first London festival! Heading eastwards with a line up of Yeke dreams, continuing our crew with selector, DJ and ethnomusicologist Poly-Ritmo 🔋❤️‍🔥🇧🇷

While she doesn’t stick to one style or genre, her joyful energy always radiates to the crowd, weaving tunes that are genuinely eclectic and igniting dancefloors with percussive rhythmic movement. 🌅

She grew up on jazz, soul, Latin and folk, has hosted regular shows on SOAS Radio, Netil and guest appearances on NTS Radio, Jazz FM, and Balamii Radio. Poly-Ritmo doesn’t just play records, but channels the energy that her influences in funk, zouk, kwaito to kuduro bring to dance floors: something felt rather than seen. 🌋💛

Welcoming back badboy selecta 📀💿

Known as “the Rocksteady Daddy,” Asher G was born and raised in sound system culture.

Growing up in North London in the 80’s, his father owned a sound system called Count Wally the Mighty Hi-Fi, spent his time selecting and collecting 45s from the likes of Eric Morris, Glen Adams, T***s Hibbert and Jackie Mittoo. 🎙️🔊

His cosmic knowledge in reggae and dub have seen him hold down radio shows and sound clashes, with notable series on “Caribbean Memories” as well as “Ska Lavin Sundays” and the endless homages to London’s sound systems throughout the decades. 🇯🇲

We love Asher’s dedication and love for sound so much, can’t wait to have him back with us next month 🔊

YEKE PRESENTS: SWEET BEBE 🔥

We’re headed to Kampala, Uganda for our 9th release - a cross-continent collaboration between Ugandan MC Swordman Kitala and Bristol-based producer Burland who’ve cooked up a digital dancehall number hitting straight to the hips 🇺🇬🇬🇧

Percussion textures are worked by Ghanaian master drummer Okoe Ashiboi, which Burland then layers on top of 909 drums. Rapid-fire lyrics bring a sweat to the brow, and wobbly basslines pay homage to original Jungle sounds. 🚀

We’re so excited for the arrival of Sweet Bebe - this weapon is ready for DJs, dancers and devils looking to catch a wine this summer. ❤️‍🔥🔋

10 day countdown and it was only right we invited Bris’ own Peverelist 🪼

Peverelist is the visionary producer behind both Livity Sound and Punchdrunk records, and has spent over two decades at the cutting edge of UK underground dance music. His latest works, ‘Pulse’, are charged with the kind of alien synth lines which could only come from his studio, but also draw a line to the hi-tech soul of foundational Detroit techno. Appearances across the years on iconic imprints including Hessle Audio have seen his consistently fresh club cuts define him as spearheading a definitively Bristolian take on the UK bass sound. 💡💡

AUKA is the creative moniker of trombonist, DJ, and COLECTIVA founder, Viva Msimang. Born in London to Chilean and South African family living in exile, AUKA’s DJ sets are an homage to the mighty continents of Africa, South America, and the beating heart of the diaspora, joining the dots between Pan-African and Latinx rhythms past and present. AUKA is a regular on Balamii, as well as hosting a show on Worlwide FM exploring the relationship between music, art and our collective responses to the biggest issues of our day.
