Founded in 1985 amidst the Reagan presidency and the ascendance of right-wing campus media, Perspective is Harvard’s liberal monthly. We cover campus issues such as labor conflicts and the Allston project, national issues such as the Occupy movement and electoral politics, and international issues such as global warming and cyber security. We take strong stands before others will; for instance, we

called on Harvard to end its unethical investments in HEI Hotels and Resorts seven months before the Crimson did so, and we are the only explicitly anti-final club media outlet on campus. We also have a thriving arts section, centered at our back-page, which includes essays on topics ranging from the impact of music downloads to political cinema to reviews of recently published books. Perspective strongly believes in a 'free press' - that is, any student who wants to write, edit, publish, photograph, design, etc. So, there is neither an application nor a comp process - just write one article (either news/feature or editorial), or help design one issue, and you're on staff!
